Playing 2/5 NL, Full Ring.

Hero makes it $15 UTG with KsQh. UTG+1, Button, and BB all call.

Hero (~$850) - should have a fairly tight image at table. Haven’t had to show a bluff or get caught in one all session.
UTG1 (~$300) - seems to be a decent player, but likes to see a lot of flops.
Button (~$350) - has been steadily losing since I sat down. Had been gone for a while and just got back. Generally a passive player.
BB (~$200) - very active. Raises a lot of hands, has been picked on a good bit with lots of 3bets that he usually folds to. He’s involved in almost every hand and will call preflop to just a raise with almost ATC. Called almost time from BB that I raised from UTG.

Pot is $62. Flop is KJ7hhh. H bets $40. Button calls.

Pot is $142. Turn is 9h. H bets $75. Button shoves for $291 total.

H folds.

I’m primarily concerned with the turn and the merits of betting again versus checking. I think that there is also some discussion about betting or checking the flop.

Thoughts?

I would do a lot of check/calling this hand. Starting with the flop.

This is a spot to keep the pot small, as a 4th heart will slow action, and the Kh/Jh are out, so opponents are unlikely to put in a lot of $ with <Jh. Check/call flop, Check/evaluate turn.

Those guys covered it. My advice is find a deeper table.

Cbet is fine. Against a passive player, bet/fold the turn is fine, though there may be more efficient lines. If villain is super passive for example, check fold can be better.

I also recommend folding kqo utg, especially given the presence of several shorter stacks.

ClemsonGrad09 I too am a Clemson grad class of 2009, small world!

I'm also not sure about the open with KQo UTG at a shortie table. It isn't too bad though depending on table. Opponents have to be pretty bad to open this UTG. They probably are if they're short stacking, but still borderline.

+1 to find a new table. +1 to x/c postflop. If I cbet flop then x/c turn.
