V check/HERO bet 250$

i just wasn't sure what the optimal line is

Straddle 10$ on the button with K J , 5 limpers,HERO check..
(60$) Flop Q:heart 9 J

First hand flop looks like you're wawb. I think calling pre and flop are questionable, AP river is meh. Not sure you're getting called by worse unless villain is the type to float/semi bluff AK/AQ?

Second hand, if you're going to play KJo from the button (which is fine) you need to open something like $60-90, or fit/fold flop. Personally I think KJo is good enough to open from the button without much action in front. Calling/raising flop is okay sometimes, depending on villain. Against an unknown, probably a fold most of the time. On the turn, it's a fold close to always. AP fold river. I'm not sure what you think you beat here other than air. Unless you've specifically seen villain stack off on air balls multiple times, fold.

Hand 1 is torching $$ calling pre. River bet is good.

Hand 2 - if you’re gonna BTN straddle you gotta go after those limpers. I’d be making it $80-90. I wouldn’t be straddling with a $650 stack however because this is the situation you’re often going to find yourself in.

H1: Definitely fold pre. I would play the rest of the hand similarly.

H2: without reads I'm folding turn, AP fold river. I would only button straddle if my goal was to loosen my image, put pressure on capable players in the blinds, or attack limpers pre and barrel in these spots.

H1 looks good. ATo isn't a great hand but well within our defending range vs a CO iso from a non-nit. If we are folding this pre, we really shouldn't be button straddling. Fwiw a 3bet is fine also.

Flop is awkward but we can't really fold if he ever has QJ or KQ, river is a clear valuebet, i like the sizing.

H2: Raise pre to 80-90, AINEC. This is the type of spot we are waiting for when straddling the BTN. Beware for potential l/reraises, but otherwise we are just printing $ by raising our top 25% hands here.

AP, easy fold on the flop. V is betting into half the table on a ridiculously wet board for almost pot, we don't close the action and our hand isn't really that strong to begin with. I might consider it if we had the K, but 2nd pair+gutter just isnt good enough. We have a bunch of Qx+, and even more decent to strong draws to call with in this spot.

This hand is also a good example of the value of having playability on future streets: no single turn card gives us the nuts, and most turn cards that improve us will kill action, except when we are still beat.
In fact, an offsuit Q is one of the better possible turn cards, and we still don't know what to do.

no, absolutely not when V 6x raises in a straddle pot

If I had the choice, I would never play either of these hands in either case. Not raising KJo either. Folding ATo. You really don't need to gamble with mediocre/trashy hands to do well in these games.

h1 seems like a good spot to 3b or fold pre. i suspect an aggro reg here is iso'ing too wide so a 3b seems ok to me if u are ok with high variance spots. it should be decently +EV. just don't go bananas with hands any worse than A10o, plus occasionally you can get called by worse such as K10s/Q10s/J10s/109s/A2s-A9s. defending offsuit hands which suck ass at realizing equity OOP against an aggro reg who will presumably barrel a dec amount is usually not the way to go. e.g. CO RFI, SB flats, BB you have AJo/KQo you should mostly be squeezing, usually the most +EV option of the 3. flop is fine vs aggro reg. turn good. river is okay too.

h2 i'd probably iso raise super huge. i'd just fold flop, it started 5-way and against most leading ranges our equity is meh and he's gonna barrel too many turns. turn is a fold, you're pretty low in your range.

H1 only:

Fold to that $60 bet. ATo not worth that much.

AP, bet bigger on river, somewhere around 350. You can get more value from over pairs.
