[2/5] KK in position vs LAG rb 4straight

Villain is very loose preflop, he's shown down A9o that he opened UTG. This is my second 3bet of him, previously he called and folded the flop. I've seen him make a lot of very large postflop bets, enough that it is clear he is bluffing a decent percent post.

Hero is young, playing fairly tight pre but 3betting a decent amount. Has been losing.

Effective stacks 1300

Villain opens EP to $25, I 3bet to $75 with KK from the HJ, everyone but him folds.
Flop: 589 ($150)
He checks, I bet $100, he calls
Turn: 6 ($350)
He checks, I check
River Q ($350)
He leads out $300

I beat some of his value here, specifically AQ, but mostly I think he has plenty of two pairs that he will value bet like this, plus of course the straight. I've never seen him fold to 3bets pre, so his range is his opening range, has plenty of low cards. And would he really float us OOP that often? So I think it is a fold.

I call. You only need to be good a third of the time here to make it profitable, and your hand is very under-repped with the turn check-back. He has straight steals, TT-JJ, and AQ in his range as well as 2p+.

As played, I'd make a crying call given turn check back. Though H is tight, 3b tendency puts AQ (essentially top or over pair) squarely in our range if V is a thinker. His river lead looks strong, but pot odds are high enough to toss a chip in.

I'd B/F $175 on the turn.

If he bluffs a lot your hand is good enough to call a good portion of the time. I wouldn't always call unless villain is a pathological bluffer or could show up betting AQ for value. This is where getting a read on villains and their betting patterns is key.

Easy to say in retrospect - but I think I go for value OTF + OTT here, planning to checkback OTR. OTT there are still many many draws and combos out (much more than 7x hands or 2p hands). So a bet/fold here has the advantage of protecting our OP and/or getting more $ in when we are good. (It's also cheaper than calling off the PSB OTR).

The big downside is where the V is sophisticated enough to realize that you really can't have 7x in your range - while he (apparently) can. That would enable him to just push you off your OP (but he can do that anyway OTR)

I expect to get check/raised by his high equity hands on the turn, and by checking back I can bluff catch some rivers, get value when checked to, and sometimes the board will pair / I'll hit a K and draw out when I'm behind. Mostly because yeah he's smart enough to know I don't have better than one pair on the turn and we've got plenty left to bet.
The Q is not a great card because we lose to JT now

Re: [2/5] KK in position vs LAG rb 4straight

I am making it $125 preflop. You describe him as very loose preflop so don't make it $75 when you are over 200 BB deep. His range will still be very wide with $75 when over 200BB deep. Not only will you make him pay but his range will be narrower as well with a $125 preflop bet.

I don't understand the BF line on the turn as some suggested here. You are not betting for value on that board. A lot of villain's range hits that board. Our range doesn't. Why turn AA into bluff when you got called on the flop. With that board I want to get to showdown cheaply. A really bad card came on the turn IMO and the check was good. If he checked on the river as well I could see bet folding $150.

Also as played on river you have a bluff catcher IMO with AA. Is AQ really betting $300 into $350? On this board? You said he made big bets that you thought were bluffs. If so call. You should think about how often he bluffs here.

I would fold here as played.

I disagree, not turning KK into a bluff at all. I would value bet the turn, hoping JT/TT/T9 call. If he called the flop with hands like 97/87/77, bad luck for us.

Also disagree on the 5x ($125) pre sizing. I think that will fold most of his range which we don't want.
