Whilst this hand is an anomaly, it's still useful in someway to look at how bad villans turn raise is....what hand can he possibly get value from by raising there? As such turn raises always convey serious strength because as you have seen here folding tptk and overpairs to turn raises is fairly rudimentary,

Fwiw if you have a villan that understands basic baluga then a (semi) bluff turn raise is a very solid play for the same reasons, but your obviously starting to meta-game then....

If v had a 3 I would expect a c/r on flop because all his 3x hands he can defend a 5x with made 2p on a wet flop, 34s 35s 36s. the limper is the one with the most sets in his range but he folded.

i was actually hoping for a 3 on the turn because it improves me to 2p and reduces the set combos

hero calls

river 5d

v shoves, hero calls

v shows 88

thanks a lot for the replies on this and the other hands...its been very helpful
Not surprised at all by this. I thought a PP was very likely. After this action, a 5 is a good river card for you as well. Nice hand.

I think it's a case where we have to act linearly with the size of our pocket pair. E.g., 99 isn't nearly as strong as KK in this situation. So I think I'm going to be sticky with KK/AA, and play it same as Op. But as the size of my PP gets smaller, I'll tend to start folding to the turn raise a lot more.
