Welcome to the forums!

As played, fold. There is not much you are beating when the pre-flop action is a L/RR from UTG. Readless, this is normally a big hand.

As such, I'd likely fold pre to the 3-bet. V is first to act post and an over will flop >50% of the time, making this hand extremely tough to play.

So much this. Unless you've seen a showdown to prove otherwise, always assume a limp/reraise is QQ+. Sometimes it'll be AK, but I've never seen anyone use this line for anything other than monsters. I sometimes see people here advocate taking this as well, but it's really transparent. I would have folded JJ pre.

We're IP and given > 11:1 implied odds pre. I'm calling pre. As played x/b flop is good. As played fold turn.

Thanks for the input. Is there any value in betting flop or is check behind better since its hard to get value from worse? Also villain showed his hand when I folded turn, will post results tomorrow.

Nah. x/b flop is best in this spot. I'm looking to probably fold turn even if he bets a normal sizing fwiw. If he showed up with something random then just make a mental note and say nice hand.

Well, now we know that V is a maniac/whale. He'll be leaving the casino broke. Hopefully we can get some of it before he gives it all away.

I probably fold pre. We have to win ~$750 every time that we flop a set. Too thin for me.

Anyone else like a 4! to $250ish pre some of the time? Decent FE vs a JJ+/AKo/AQs+/random bluff range.

Grunching:

Pre is good. V might have some junk here, but you have no reason to think he is 3-betting light. AK, QQ+ is a more conservative, appropriate range for him. You are either way behind or racing. Flatting is good because you have odds to set-mine IP given stack sizes and aggressive opponent.

Flop: I think you blew this. V now has 8 combos of AK and 18 combos of QQ+ and literally no draws. $200 bet/fold should blow him off his QQ+. It it doesn't, then you are done with this hand. If you check behind, you will have to fold to a turn bet, losing to his unlikely junk hands which he will surely bluff with.

Turn: Fold. You are crushed by literally everything in his most likely range. Don't get suckered by the weird overbet. He may be doing this to arouse suspicion.

I hate this despite the result of hand. Hero had not seen V 3-bet yet, and V did limp/re-raised from UTG. Hero was correct in giving V a strong range and had no reason to think 4! had decent FE.

Why do you want him to fold his bluffs that have 18%-30% equity postflop and will potentially barrel into you?

Also, I dont think JJ+, AK is folding to a 4-bet too often
