2/5 - JJ in SB - Call or Fold? 2/5 - JJ in SB - Call or Fold?

Game: 9 handed 2/5 game. I've only seen 1 orbit but the table seemed aggressive. Smallest stack is ~$400 while the largest is ~$1500 with the average somewhere between that number. The WPT is goin on so the games are expected to be softer than usual.

Hero ($490) is SB with JJ. I forgot my debit card at a gas station on the way to the casino but luckily I had a bit over 500 cash on me from a previous game so I didnt have to make the hour drive back to retrieve it lol. Either way the limited ammo makes it hard for me to confidently push small edges.

Villain (~$400) is in the BB and just sat down. I have zero reads on him

UTG opens for $15. He gets 3 callers and it is eventually folded around to me.

Hero calls

BB 3bets to 105

Hero ??

Raising into 4 callers from the BB seems very strong. I'm leaning towards a fold bc his potential range has me crushed + I cant afford to put a fifth of my stack in to see a flop and have to give up to any further heat.

Is this logic ok or nah? What do you guys think

3! pre.

As played, fold and pay attention. Even though it's a great 3! squeeze spot, it doesn't matter. It's 2/5 live, and very few players 3! light/squeeze.

Playing with only one bullet in a cash game does not work. What is your plan when you lose half your stack?

I don't mind the flatting the $15. You are turning your JJ into a set mine but out of the SB you would have to raise something like $50/$60 and that leaves you committed on most flop. If you know your opponents are sticky then set mining is not a bad option, though raising is usually better.

Against an unknown opponent 3 betting his first hand big you can easily fold. There is an outside chance he is bluffing or setting an image but mostly your facing a better hand or coin flipping with AK.

Just fold, but I probably 3bet the first time depending on UTG's opening range.

What is the "vibe" you get from BB? does he look/act gambly or on the tightish/reg side? This can actually make a difference!

Seems like a fist pump jam when it gets back to you. Folding is fine I guess if you're worried about losing your only buy in. Driving an hour away with one buy in sounds awful.

Because we treated our JJ like a glorified set mining pair I'd just fold this once it get so back to us. BB is showing a lot of strength and we'd be playing the hand OOP.

I think calling the 15 is fine, but definitely folding to the big 3bet. The 3bet definitely looks strong, and there's a ton of flops you can't feel comfortable with out of position. 3betting here is marginal for the same reason IMO. Also I think 4bet jamming here is about the most ludicrous way to play this especially with only one bullet. There's going to be so many less marginal spots I don't see any reason to continue with this one.

Chances that BB has QQ+ here in obvious squeeze spot seems much slimmer than normal...folding for 80bb seems like the most ludicrous play to me. But if you have to drive an hour each way if you bust seems to be the deciding factor and that is bad.

I definitely agree that being limited to one bullet and factoring it into your decisions is bad. What hands would you expect him to be squeezing with here? And against an unknown player is it worth pushing a potentially marginal situation regardless of the inability to reload?
