Hero- Late 20s white, Just sat down next to villain, with bout 475.

Villian- 40 something business man with suit, More on the loose side pre and, plays pretty well post flop, has me covered.

Villian opens to 35 utg folds around to cutoff who calls, then I contemplate a re raise but just call assuming he has ak or something of that nature.

Flop(105) 789

I really think im ahead of most of his range considering how much I see him raise pre, and fire out 65, he just calls cutoff folds.

Turn(235)K One of the cards I didn't want to see, I heasitate bet 50 and he raises to 150. Where did I go wrong??

turn bet sizing is too small and could've induced the raise. i'm more than happy to bet/fold this turn but i'm going to bet a normal sizing so that if i get raised i know villain is much more likely to have a big hand. if i was villain and saw you bet 50 into 235 im basically raising you with any two cards.

otherwise i like the bet-bet line even on this wet board. still plenty of hands we can get value from on the turn.

Im usually 3betting this hand mostly because we are out of position here. I think we could have sized the flop bet a little bigger and the turn bet is super small, It just screams "I don't want to bet here"

Remember though we have underepped our hand by just flatting the raise. If we 3bet pre we can represent alot of hands and can more effectively run a bluff on later streets.

I'm pretty leery about large UTG opens. Although CO's dead money makes a 3-bet more enticing, I still probably flat from the bb. We are essentially set mining.

I would check flop preparing to fold to heavy action. Don't think PF raiser will cbet this wet board against 2 opponents with AK.

3bet pre.

Where you really went wrong was the turn bet sizing. Either bet 100+, or check. In simple terms, you bet less OTT than OTF, screams weakness.

Also bet bigger OTF if you're going to donk, 75-100.

I don't mind the flat pre if your read is that he's opening tight from UTG.

Just because you lost a hand w JJ doesn't mean you did anything wrong. Sometimes they outflop you, sometimes you had the word hand the whole time.

Betting 50 ott is like the worst thing I have ever seen... It's so weak

You played post flop as badly as possible.

figure out how many value hands he has in his range.
-imho not very many.
-he will have to have basically turned a king, with a flop float. It's possible but I think more often he picked up a tell and you induced this action. See a lot of combodraws here.
2pair plus or overpair often raise the flop donk.
his sizing isn't really indicative of value, more like he wants a fold.

99-qq shouldn't raise because of the king they will be more showdowny. But this whole hand is funky because of your unorthodox line/sizing.

you can call as well but you will have to fold a lot of wet rivers, and make some hero calls if he will continue bluffing when shooting river blanks.

If you assume his range is largely weighted towards AQ/AK, why would you flat pf then lead out otf when it's 9 high? Be consistent with your reads/actions. You played incredibly weakly and got punished. He might have had you beat, he might not have. But your post flop play was not well thought out nor executed.
