2/5 - Isolation Bet Strategy, Being Leaned-On, or Both? 2/5 - Isolation Bet Strategy, Being Leaned-On, or Both?

How would you interpret the following from a recent 2/5 session?
  • Hero does not look at hole cards until his turn, watches the action
  • Villain to immediate left would look at his cards in advance or same time
  • He would often conduct his action at the same time as mine
  • Several times (six/seven) the villain would be mid-motion w/ hand in the air to limp simultaneous to my action of limping, go back to his stack, and make a pot sized bet for ~$20-25

Are other players isolating with this kind of great frequency and/or approach?

This would happen across a variety of positions but mostly mid-early.

Just odd to me that his action was pretty obvious transitioning from limp himself to 1 PSB. The action seemed almost arbitrary so I didn't take it personally. He was a middle-aged semi-blue collar appearing Asian guy who didn't say much. Maybe he played a little angrily but his attitude approach was pretty even across the whole table.

I always act as if I were to limp or at least put a chip to protect my cards. What I do next is for you to find out after you limp.

If you are playing like a fish then I can see him trying to isolate you.

Why are you limping so frequently in the first place?
