Results oriented. You post this hand to see if you can get away from it due to the results. If results were different, you would have never posted it. Easy as that, especially at these stack depths.

Dude it is so ridiculously easy to balance our 3 bet range here if we’re calling pre with 22 (we shouldn’t be) that I’m not even sure what the discussion is.

Jam 22. Jam 88. Jam AcXc. Jam QcJc. Congrats. You’re balanced with monsters and high equity semi bluffs that doesn’t give an overpair a slam dunk in either direction

No it isn’t. It’s simple. You look at your hand and the information available and come to a decision on whether you have a good plan to make money. If the 5x raiser has a range that crushes 88 when you’re on 80 bb, and he won’t pay off your set outside of an outrageous cooler situation (like AQ v 88 on AQ8r), then you fold. Easy.

Ah of course, this thread. Street poker 101. Play any hand you want. Don’t worry about what the other guy can have pre. Postflop, Stare into their soul and make the disciplined lay down. Your set is no good.

I’m pretty sure this how some of the biggest donators at online midstakes used to play back in the late 00’s. Because they read in a book once that they shouldn’t go broke with top pair.
