Not saying you're a liar, but I don't believe you. Anyone who makes claims in absolutes is usually FOS.

There have both been times you've folded an under boat and been right and wrong, and also times you've called and were right and wrong.

Even when you're wrong or right, you're probably making a mistake by folding, and not a small one.

Not easy making boats in HE and to fold to a single c/r is ridiculous.

Why are you tanking for so long? You should always act as fast as possible imo.

He would have 3b QQ-AA. You block JJ. Old white men have all the AK and will raise with KQ, KT type hands to see where they are at. These same types will raise really big with a big hand or draw. Your line should always be call, check/call, and lead river against old white dudes who check back rivers way too much.

Yeah, c/r turn vs a pf caller who became the flop aggressor is really bad IMO.

OP what looks more fishy, a donk or a c/r?

It really is a standard donk.

How strong does a bet/call c/r turn look?

Doch, a donk looks like Jx.

Agreed. Being results oriented, I obviously wish I'd c/c and then reevaluated on river. But in real time, after his turn lead I've probably maxed value against his one pair range, and should start playing for stacks against everything else (or give him a chance to really misplay). This raise gave him a good price to continue with a lot (~200 into 700), and sets up a pretty easy river shove (for him to call incorrectly).

What we can't know is, if I c/c turn, how often he calls a ~$200 lead by me on a blank river with something like AK. Seems like some believe it's often; I'm more pessimistic.

If you're pessimistic that he will call your river lead, shouldn't you be even more pessimistic that he will call your turn c/r because to any decent player, that looks far far stronger?

We're not worried about getting value against 66 here, we're worried about giving him a reason to get away from Kx here.

When you c/c twice like that, your hand looks more drawy to him. I'd personally call your river lead with AK in Vs shoes too as your hand looks like a missed flush/str draw when the river bricks.

I haven't really experimented with that line much, and it sucks to get max value OOP even in a situation like this.
