2/5 Did We Get Out Of Line? 2/5 Did We Get Out Of Line?

2/5, 9 handed, $600 effective. Hero has a TAG/nitty image.

OTTH

Bad loose rec opens +1 $25, loose player who is passive pre and aggressive post calls +2, we call in HJ with T 9 (CO is tight passive and BTN is loose passive) and everyone else folds.

Flop ($82): A 7 6. +1 bets $40, +2 folds, and we call.

Turn ($162): 5. Villain checks and hero bets $80 with the intention of only firing again otr if we hit a straight or flush.

Pre - I thought we had solid IO's and a decent chance of having position. Since BTN is loose, should we just be folding? I think pre is the biggest question of the hand, and felt like it was pretty borderline. I'm regularly calling these spots, so I wanted to check up.

Flop - This is super standard, right? My thinking was he'll never think we have the straight if we hit, we can call another bet ott when we get a club or a pair, and he's bluffing a fair amount of the time so I can call here, then fire any turn he checks.

Turn - He checked. We were firing regardless of the turn card, but now we picked up equity.

River - If he calls turn, is it fair to only fire club and 8 rivers? Especially vs a LLSNL bad loose rec, I don't see him folding very often, even vs an overbet shove (which I plan to use if we hit.)

I think calling is the worst option against this PFR pre. I'd 3! $85, especially with your image. It's a lot less scary than it seems. If you're not comfortable with that line, just fold pre.

AP same thing OTF, I think calling is the worst option.

AP I like firing turn, but I think you should size up to $135~

i mean sure if he is that much of a station no need to bluff but, vs a normalish player i am firing most rivers and repping the 8-9

disagree 10-9 suited plays well enough post flop that we should easily be profiting from a flat here.

Pre is close, can't 3b given effective stax, EP raise, loosey PFR … imho.

I'd fold flop. Don't have IO and little FE if we pickup equity on turn.

I 3 bet light pre all the time, but agree that this isn't the spot to be doing it. Samo - why are effective stacks a consideration for not 3 betting pre? Are you saying we shouldn't be 3 betting light when we are 120 BB deep? I was thinking moreso because PFR was EP.

Why don't we have IO? You don't think the idea of playing IP, and being able to bet any turn when he checks is valid?

Both are considerations, but primarily stax. There's $57 of dead money when it gets to Hero, so a 3b would be $115ish, almost 20% of stack. One caller and the pot OTF is $255ish. SPR becomes a concern, especially if opponent(s) is sticky.

With an Ace on board, it will be harder to take control on the turn, need to hit the 4-outer, V not likely to fold AX.

nice combo to raise flop in theory, as part of your polarized raising range of sets, 2p and semi bluffs

ap bigger turn, you'l have 2p, trips and straights that want to size up
and you set up a ~psb river
you should prob be betting a lot when checked to because of how poorly oop is likely constructing his x/c range, leaving him vulnerable to river shoves. there are very few rivers he wants to see with Ax.
