1/2, V (middle aged Asian rock who always wins at my casino, $700) open limps MP, BTN (random rec, $300) overlimps, Hero ($550, SB) raises to $20 with AsKd, both call

Flop ($62): Qd 9s 6s
Checks around

Turn ($62): 3s
Hero checks, V bets $35, BTN folds, Hero ???

I considered leading turn but opted against it 3-way. Is leading better?

Also considered xr turn but afraid my line may not make sense and he may not fold some big hand like a set or small flush, both in his range. Could get AQ/KQ (or worse Qx) to fold sometimes I block both of those. I also have a read that he would bet $20ish with his TP type of hands OTT.

Reads on V:

1) he limps a ton preflop, including reasonable raising hands like AQ and 99... is more of a postflop shark

2) usually just limp folds a ton to my raises preflop

3) can play a wider range in position

4) is never going to pay me if another spade rolls off OTR so no IO

5) somehow always shows down strong hands (even with garbage hands) when he’s betting postflop

Flop seems like a must cbet with two overs, As and backdoor straight.

After the flop gets checked around the turn is another must bet (and bet any river).

No idea why you chose to check twice.

Because that’s an atrocious flop for me as the PFR OOP into two players, they’d have all sorts of TP & straight draws. If I bet $40 and get called by any of them, I’ll have to bet $100 OTT and be down $160 in no time when I could have just got a cheap showdown for $20, right?

The key point is the 4th one. If you can't make anything on the river if another spade comes then you want one of the straight draws and bluff when the flush hits. As played just fold. A check raise on this board will be read as a draw of some sort too often to get much FE.

I would check this flop also. You are multiway and this flop is super wet, just about anything that didn't hit the flop has some sort of draw. Turn is a toss up, bet sometimes and check sometimes.

Yup exactly my thoughts. Hard to really have any straight draws with a $20 SB range though but I get what you’re saying.

Wouldn’t that line to represent the flush while holding a SD be better if the river brought the third spade and not the fourth one though? I could already be up against Axss in this situation but less likely in the latter if V is betting previous streets.
