Hero is eff stack of $800 and just sat a few hands ago. Vill in this pot is generally an abc reg that is on the bad side. I'd guess he's a slight losing player but not a huge fish. He's a Euro guy about 50 y/o.

Villain opens UTG to 30
CO flats 30
Hero on the button 3bet to 130 with JsJc
Both players call.
Flop Jh9d8d- Pot $390
Both players check.
Hero?

I bet $305.
Villain UTG calls.
CO folds.

Turn 10h - Pot $1000

Villain shoves and covers my $365.

Hero?

Obviously puking in my mouth. This player type will never not have Qx here in my experience. His hand is face up as QQ (especially being UTG and raising this big) possibly AQdd, KQdd. I have 10 outs to draw out needing 21%. Pot odds are dead on at 3.7-1 for an even money situation. I suppose I coulda potted the flop for $400 and had an easier time calling off less than $300?

I mean you are getting the price to call so what's the question?

First of all, dont 3 bet JJ vs an ABC player who opens $30 UTG.

Secondly, you dont need to bet that much on the flop.

Lastly, you have the odds to call even if he flipped his cards up and showed you a Q, so call and live with the results.

I'd rather flat with JJ on the BTN vs. an ABC player's UTG raise.

Flop bet is fine, and calling the Turn is a no-brainer.

I agree that flatting JJ may be preferred. One reason I 3bet is that I have seen this player open UTG and flat a 3bet with 99 and then play poorly after the flop. So it seemed like a good value 3bet. His open to $30 was bigger than the 99 hand though where he opened to $20. I think a mix of flats and 3bets might be best. Against the bigger sizing leaning more towards flat.

What bet sizing do you like on the flop and why? I want to be called but this board is very wet so perhaps more like 2/3 pot for $250?

I like the large flop bet, and doing anything but call turn is very awful.

Once he calls the 3 bet preflop hes going to have AA-QQ the vast majority of the time. He will also have some AK although I think an ABC reg is folding AK to $130 OOP.

You have his range demolished. I would bet closer to $225. You will just about never be folding this hand no matter what happens. The worst thing would be letting the guy fold KK/QQ and he should be folding those hands for $305.

You do realize that the flop is 3- handed?

If this is true and they only continue with AK and QQ-AA, we print money 3betting any two cards. It would be instantly profitable. V should be continuing with a lot more hands, and in my experience people call 3b with a MUCH wider range than this. Whether they should or shouldn't is another question but they often do. OP even said this guy is on the bad side.
