2/5, 7 handed, $500-$700 effective with every villain in the hand. Every villain seems to be loose passive. If anyone is paying any attention, hero has a TAG image.

OTTH

Hero opens A T $20 HJ, CO, BTN, and BB call.

Flop ($82): A Q J. X around.

Turn ($82): 5. BB leads $60, hero calls, BTN calls.

River ($262): 2. BB leads $200-hero folds. Thoughts?

I feel like pre and river are super standard. Would you ever bet the flop and why? Would you ever fold the turn and why?

I don't like checking flop here personally. I know we don't always see eye to an eye, but this is a sopping wet board, and the Q/J don't really change the aces you were losing to anyway. Betting here could have encourage BB to either fold, or call but then check to you on turn letting you reevaluate how you want to play it.

Fold at the river seems fine. I might find some calls here readless, just because BB was making plays before the back door came in.

Interesting counter question, would you have folded with AK here (same suits)?

I actually would've bet AK otf because that adds the 8 combos of AT that can now call. That's why I'm curious about the flop, I'm not sure if that alone is enough to make AT a x.

In a parallel universe in which I x AK otf, I fold the river. Given the turn action and now a second barrel, I think one pair is good close to 0% of the time.

Edit: I mixed this up with the other hand and thought this was straddled.

Shorthand: I think I find a call on occasion if I have a read and the 10 spades. I fold 100% with no spade as played.

When a loose passive bets big in a 4 way pot I exploit fold top pair on the turn. I would be happy to call 30 where we beat a lot of value

Flop: at equilibrium this is probably a check, in game i'd happily bet 1/3 and expect to get calls from any pair+GS.

Turn: We have an underrepped TP + a GS to the nuts. Never folding. Villain could easily be betting Ax or draws, and we have good equity/IO vs QJ or A5.

River: Yeah this sucks. Probably not making a big mistake either way when we block T, but generally thin valuebets shrink in size on flushed rivers and we can't beat his polar value obv. If he finds T9 as a bluff here, good for him. I'd fold.

I can go either way on this flop but OOP I think I like the check best. If I do decide to bet I am using a larger sizing here since I would expect loose passives to call with worse pairs.

I have a hard time coming up with any bluffs BB can have on the turn. T9 and a few suited spade hands are all I can really think of. I think V could be value betting a worse A though so for this reason I would call on the turn.

This river is an easy fold to me. You are pretty near the bottom of your range and a loose passive player just led into you twice.
