Trying to figure out if I could have done anything different to minimize a brutal loss

Villian is MA Asian whom I've played against many times. Typically a solid player. He just transfered over from another table a few minutes ago where he must have lost his stack. Rebought for $1k. Played a couple of hands and appeared agitated, possibly on tilt. OTTH

Hero has AKd in sb. Eff $950 and covers Villian
$10 straddle is on from UTG
MP calls $10
Villian calls
Button calls
Hero makes it $80
Straddle folds to MP who calls $80
Villian calls
Button calls
$335 pot
Flop comes KsQs5d
Hero leads with $200
MP folds
Villian calls
Button folds
$735 in the pot
Turn is 3h
Hero shoves and Villian snap calls his remaining $670
River is 7h
Villian flips over 64s and starts beating his chest and shouts "Now we're playing poker baby!"
I just stare as he stacks my chips

I felt I had the correct read with the flush draw that didn't get there and got my chips in ahead. Any red flags with my actions?

Seems like a bad beat post. There’s a thread for those. You obviously didn’t do anything wrong, villain did. You got unlucky. Sorry.

Just a bad beat story. You got villain to call $80 preflop with 6 high, and then snap stackoff with a 6 high flushdraw.

Thats the kind of opponents you want in the game-however, that doesent mean you will win every pot against them. They will suckout sometimes, if they didnt it isnt poker.

I'd say buy that man a drink, but it doesn't sound like he needs it

There's an easy way to avoid brutal losses like this: be a complete rock and never stack off with less than 100% equity.

I would also like to join this Villain's fan club.

I don’t think there was enough evidence to get away from the hand, just a cooler imo. I might have sized up the flop cbet a little, like 230 or 250. We are out of position and it’s a draw heavy board multiway.
On the turn I like to shove it in, there’s too many draws out there and we have less than pot sized behind. Sure we could be up against KQ but we likely have the best hand at this point and could get called by worse K, also we can have some big semi bluffs to play this way as well so it’s nice to shove AK here on balance.
Tough spot but I don’t think u can get away
