Have some history with villain, he opened a straddled pot to $40 from btn 1 caller, I made it $140 from BB, he very quickly made it $320, I jammed, he thought and called with 88, with 850 stacks. He's been talking about playing high stakes, my buddy says he's a blaster and he definitely seems aggressive but I'm not sure if he's thoughtful about it yet. We also played a hand where I 3bet AK, he called, check/check, I check/call, he checks back river on 23743 and he said he didn't bet river cause he knows I don't fold.

He also played a hand where he straddled, limped to him OTB, he makes it 70, SB goes all in for around 330, folds back to him, he calls with KQo and loses to 75s.

We're $1550 deep at this point, one limper to me in MP, I open to $30, folds to him in the BB he makes it $130 which is a bit large for him, folds back to me and I call with AKo. Definitely occasional 4bet with this hand, especially vs him, but I like having it in my flatting range sometimes too.

Flop KJ7 (260)
He bets $175, I call - I can see a raise here but mostly I like calling on this board with these stacks as it isn't super drawy and I can still get stacks in with various hands so I don't think I need much of a raising range
Turn: Q(610)
He bets $275, I call
River: 2 (1160)
He goes all in for like 800, I tank

All his bets were fairly quick but not instantaneous. I'm not sure if he jams AA on the river, there is a 50% chance he does.

Given reads, I call it off. I think we lose to two pair or AT often, but I think AJ-AQ are also in his range, as well as some random spew. I don't know how well he generally betsizes, so this may not mean much, but he bet too little OTT to set up an easy river shove, which leads me to suspect he doesn't have a monster tha he's trying to massage stacks in with.

That said, given his responses to 3 and 4 bets in the example hands, I hate not 4-betting pre.

This is a tough spot, it's so Villan dependant its really hard to make a decision here....
I'm OK with how you have played this hand so far, don't think you need to worry to much about your absolute range to much when playing live as it's pretty hard to play enough hands with a particular villan for it to really matter... Also few villans actually bother to assign proper ranges anyway....

In terms of the hand and the river decision it's easy to make arguments both ways..... All we are really doing is bluff catching by the river and our hand has no value other than as a bluff catcher..... Any value hand on the flop that villan can realisitixly have made two pair or is still ahead...so I think this is probably a fold unless you think villan bluffs often

I’m curious if u saw his hands in the 88 and AK HU spots. Recall if u have the Ah in this one?

Turn size might be a probe to see if Hero re-pops it. After the flat and being oop, he would bet entire range on blank river.

I think sets and AT are value sizing higher ott. 3 combos of AA beat, chopping 6 combos of AK and beating some random hands like JTs that seem to be in his 3-b range.

Nasty deep with a 1-pr hand, but I think u r getting the right price to make a crying call.

I'm folding. Seems like most of his hands should either beat you or be bluffcatching. His range of hands that 3bets pre and then plays like this but loses to one pair seems narrow.
