Game is 2/5 $500 max buyin

Hero is a winning reg. TAG-ish image. Probably seem a bit loose sometimes to the older regs at this 2/5 game. Bet for thin value, have bluffs, etc.

V is an older reg who usually just plays a few hours in the middle of the day. He’s pretty tight. Only 3!’s the very best premiums, usually bets fairly small, regardless of pot size.

Hero is playing $700
V is playing $450

Game is playing fairly tight-passive overall and hero has been winning lots of small pots with and without hands. Pretty easily the most active player at the table the first hour.

Hero picks up AJ of diamonds UTG+2 and opens to $15, MP calls, CO calls, V calls in the button.

Flop: ($62) 7c - 8s - Jh

Hero bets $30, MP and CO both fold quickly, V calls in bb.

Turn: ($122) 7s

V takes a bit of time, then bets $45, Hero calls.

River: ($212) 2h

V pauses again, then bets $30... your action?

Will he call with worse if you raise?

I might raise/fold to $90 praying he can't fold 99, TT, KJ, QJ.

However, against most passive players, this is just a call and be happy if you win and that you made any money with TPTK.

$20-25 pre

As played - $40 otf, click back raise river to $60.

I agree with everyone here that bigger OTF is better.
I like $40 better for sure.
River is the main decision point, I was just curious how most would feel about call OTR or raise for value, and if so, how much?

I don’t mind this min-click idea OTR at all here. Makes sense to me.

$15-20 pre works well for me. Especially with this specific hand in this position on this type of table. I have zero issues seeing this hand/spot 3-5 ways. Pre is a non-issue imo.

Trust me, there’s plenty of times that I’m opening larger than $15-20, but this isn’t a bad spot for that size at all.

just call the river, esp. against tight old guy.

Since you've been active, a little more pre, then 2/3 PSB on flop.

River maybe $70-75, offering opponent ~7-1 odds on a call. If he 3b, sounds like a fold based on the descript.

I agree that bigger OTF is better here. $40 seems ideal.

Spoiler:
When V bet $30 OTR I thought he was trying to get a cheap showdown with QJ or KJ. So I raised to $110 for value, and was snapped off within 5 seconds by QQ. I don’t love my river sizing here either if I am raising. Anyway, was just curious how many would value raise. Thanks all. Took myself to value town on this one.
