effective stacks are 1k.

EP guy opens to 20. he's new to the table but seems pretty action. a weak player calls 20 to my right, i call 20 with A9 on the button.

($65): Flop: K Q 8

the pfr now checks, the weak player checks, i bet 30, the pfr calls, weak player folds.

($125): Turn: K Q 8 T

the pfr checks again, i bet 75, pfr calls.

($275): River: K Q 8 T T

the pfr checks. i bet 150.

is this a decent spot to fire 3 barrels vs villains ch/c range as eppfr when flush comes in? obv the river card is a disaster but stilllll....

River doesn't change anything. If he called turn he is calling river. 3 barreling here is lighting money on fire.

I ran it through flopzilla with what I think is a reasonable range given the action.

A2dd-AJdd

AJo, AQo with Ad

JTo, QTo, QJo, JTs, Q9s, QTs, QJs

7d6d, 86dd, 87dd, 97dd, 98dd, T8dd, T9dd, J9dd

Bluff is very bad against that range w/ 65% of hands being > 3 of a kind.

Eliminate the suited connector range and you are still being called 60% of the time.

I'm certainly calling 150 on the river with a K.

If you want to be convincing you have to bet much bigger on the river, but its very Villain dependent and it takes some balls to pull off.

This is just bad LAG play....sorry. These are high variance plays that are simply going to cost you a lot of money in the long run. Once you have been caught once making these plays, you need to cool down a bit....players will start calling you down very light. Practice patience....

If Villain is calling your turn bet then "any thinking player" is calling down your river bet as well. There is no way that villain can put you on a boat as hand played out.

This flop/turn line is fine if PFR is a fit or fold kind of guy, but it's spewy against a guy who "seems pretty action."

You also have some decent backdoor equity. Checking behind flop and giving your self a chance to hit a spade, 9, T, J, A OTT is a good option. K and Q turns aren't all that bad either, if one of those falls and it checks to you again, that's probably a pretty profitable stab spot as well.

I think your sizing is a little on the small side. If you're going to bet, want to put a lot of pressure on the weak Kx, Qx, AJ, AT type hands in his range. 40/120 works quite a bit better I think.

The river bet seems flat out terrible.

What story are you telling? I'm not afraisd of a flush (Turn) AND I'm not afraid of a paired board (River) ... What hand do you have?

If you were to do something like this here I think you should bet bigger on the Flop, smaller on the Turn and bigger on the River with relation to the pot. Most action players are goig to at least 'sense' the changes in your betting ratio and you could get a fold on the River.

By betting bigger OTF you can also check back the Turn, which will actually give you more 'credit' when firing on this River. A lot of Kx hands will call you down, but you may get some folds if they put you on Tx holdings ... IF you check the Turn. GL
