7-handed 2/5, UTG $25, UTG1 calls, Hero calls 9c9d in CO, BB calls

Flop ($100): 532cc
Checks to me, I bet $55, only BB calls

Turn ($210): Qs
BB checks, I bet $125, BB xrai for my last $500 total

Guy is an extreme LAG with a $4k stack... he lost $1k bluffing 20 mins ago and is playing every hand... overbets/bluffs/crazy aggro.. not afraid to put in thousands...

After xr, he makes a speech “spoke to the manager, no more clubs coming “

Snap call vs someone playing everyhand.

Lol first time I've heard that, I was considering 3b but then realised BB is the spot

AP I sigh call, you just said he is overbluffing and jamming very light.

Pre you should have the best pair, he should be 3betting TT+ at least. If he binked off with Qxcc pay the man

I mean the guy is capable of easily showing up with something like Q4 here, which sucks. I don’t know if he could also have any 4x.

Doesn’t such a guy xr flop with 2p+?

He donkbet 175 into 100 with 98o on a 654K board earlier. Seems to really be attacking strength-changing cards.

Problem is the guy knows exactly what he was doing. The type who can clean up the table in no time. Knows when to bet and when to check, changing gears constantly.

I just remembered... he made a similar speech earlier. Early on when I sat down with $400 in my first orbit, he called my $15 HJ open with 97o in CO, SB and BB called too. Flop was J86dd SB donked 50, BB raised to 100, I folded 97s and he raised to $300 with the same hand, and while BB was tanking, he passed the same exact comment for diamonds. He was $1k+ effective with SB and BB that hand so that might change some things.

Given this extra info, this is more of a snap call mate

Raise to $25 pre.

Why are we betting the turn?

UTG raised $25 pre.

Betting turn because 99 should still be ahead of his flop xc range and Qx doesn’t change anything?

My bad misread hand. I check turn against volatile bluff happy v. Let him fire riv and we can call it off. Not thrilled about calling ai here, and I would fold.

Gonna guess he has a huge hand here. Hes pointing out in an indirect way that he could have a flush draw.

He was implying no more clubs for me.

If you read one of my posts above, you’ll see he made the same speech a while ago. And he was on an OESD.

Then Id just chalk it up to mind games and ignore the speech. If Im up against a maniac with a strong hand I just play it as aggro as possible and get the money in. I like the way you played the hand. I would call with so much invested and this guy could have anything.

Grunch.

Trivial call based on your read that he's a super aggro spew nut and it's heads up. Bummer he actually had it this time.

Against aggressive players, turn is a mandatory check. Do you really think a player like that is folding? You have to have a reason to bet. If you think you have best hand, and Vil will easily pay you off, then betting is fine. But your description of Vil is not that kind of player. You have 1 pair. Pot control, get to SD. If he leads river, evaluate based on the board and his bet. I might even check river. This player is thinking beyond what his hand is, beyond what your hand is. He's thinking "how will this player react to this bet?" and you need to plan accordingly.
