Villain 1 has been at table for 1.5 hours. He's active and playing 1200. Villain 2 has just joined, is playing 400. Villain 3 has been at table for 1 hour. Villain 3 is LAG, a winning player I believe, takes shots at 10-10 NL, and likes to play pots. Villain 3 is playing 1300. Villain 4 has just joined, posted, and is playing 800.

Hero has been playing longer than the rest, is playing 850, and should have a tight image. His only hand in the past half hour is 3 betting villain 3 who folded.

UTG Villain 2 limps, Villain 3 raises to 25 UTG+1, Villain 4 the poster calls the 25, Hero calls the 97 of diamonds. Villain 1 calls in SB and UTG calls.

Flop is KdJd5c, Villain 1 Villain 2 check. Villain 3 bets 60. Villain 4 folds. Hero raises to 180, others fold.

Villain 3 raises to 480. It is 300 back to Hero, who has 645 behind.

Hero ships.

Thoughts?

If you're going to GII in this spot, I would prefer to make the intial raise a bit bigger. Perhaps something like $220ish. Problem is, even though his range might be wide here, what can he really have after his 3bet? Prob either TP+ or a better flush draw. Gross spot.

Im folding this pre-flop

V3 is never going to C-Bet this flop with air into 4 players. I do not think we have enough fold equity against his range to make our initial raise profitable.

I probably fold this flop. With 4 other players in the hand, we could be drawing dead here and are not likely to get paid much if we connect.

Pre is fine. I think calling flop is probably the right play considering we have position, the odds, and we have a decent stack behind.

Pre is fine. Post is really bad. Once villain makes it 480 he's not folding to a shove. At least he shouldn't be. Ripping 9 high flush draws is -ev.

3bet or fold pre...

If you really have a tight/nitty image this is where you can stick in a light 3bet once or twice a session.

Not the right board to be semi bluffing a middle flush draw. You're dominated by big combo draws, no one is folding AK or KJ, etc

Vs. a tight ABC player, taking a shot with this hand and eff stack is more optimal imo. Facing a skilled LAG, a nuttier hand fares better, in position or not. I'd fold pre.

AP - I think you have little FE on that board, so GL on the draw.

After Villain makes it $480 we have no FE and a weak naked Flush draw. We are way behind with a -EV hand, no reason to stack off so deep.

Word of advice: unless you're really, reeeaaaalllllyyyyy good, in general the way to beat a good LAG player is NOT to "out-LAG" him. I think you maybe subconsciously got into a dick measuring contest on the flop for no good reason.

If this is how you play post-flop, you need to play tighter pre-flop.

Don't like it. Once Villain re-raises you there is no way in the world he is folding. So why shove? (though you probably caught the diamond). Villain played it well (maybe you were the villain?)
