I just had the thought that this would be a pretty funny hand if villain misread his ace of spades as a club preflop.

Anyway, this is a pretty easy fold. It's hard to believe that the nit played his set like this and then turned his set into a bluff on the river, expecting you to fold when your range is ace high flush or straight flush. That's the story I would have to believe is in his range to consider a call.

And I'm thinking whether I like the turn raise. This is by far the most useful street of the hand to analyze. You think he doesn't have a set, but you sized your bet to price out the board pairing outs? You are also 100% folding out anything that is worse than you that isn't a set. I don't think I like the turn. I think this is a call even if you are sometimes letting the set or the rare Tc draw for free. You do get some equity if he tries to bluff a river. Edit: And if the river were a blank, then he may value/block bet a queen high flush on the river.

I'm also considering that a miniraise might be good to price out a straight flush draw and possibly get some value out of KxQc.

I have never been more interested in the results of a hand on 2+2 than this one. Post soon?

Horrible spot by the way. This is where you really need to have a good understanding of who V is. If he's a very solid reg/grinder, as someone already said, probably a puke-fold. If you've seen him pull of some major bluffs before, well it's not too hard to justify a call here.

Hero folds river and V does not show.
I never thought I would get so much criticism from raising turn. I can see merit for both calling and raising though.
But WTF do we do otr when V leads for like 1/2 pot? Just fold?!?!

Also, I think its pretty wierd that V doesn't show. If he was bluffing, this was the bluff of the year IMO.
And if he had SF, don't people always show when they have a SF?!

Im def not advocating flatting turn bc we are afraid....

Flatting bc nothing worse calls here only better.

We flat bc if hes bluffing we give him another chance to stab at it....id r/f river if he is a nit as you describe....but as i stated i really doubt hes a nit sitting with 3400$ in a 500$ cap game....and it sounds like its late night bc of the broken game...aka people are delirious and doing some crazy things.

If there isn't a high hand bonus I never show my quad+ hands.
Unless I'm trying to manipulate my image for some reason.
