H has strong tag image and has only showed one hand to v which is aa. H perceives v as thinking nit, e.g. capable of level 2 thinking. Pre h squeezes and tries to take the pot home. h bets larger than usual to represent aa-jj. Otf the only way h can take the pot home is to make it show that he really has it, thus the check-raise bluff. E.g. our action tells a compelling story throughout the hand and as a thinking player the nit lays down probably tt/99/aq/aj. Now I don't do this kind of stuff often but that's why it works often when I do it.
