Villain has been at the table for maybe twenty minutes, he's young and seems a bit loose, he just lost a medium sized pot and may be tilting, but reads are real sparse right now. He's the effective stack with $750, he sat with $1000

HJ limps, villain limps, sb completes, and I raise to $40 with AK, villain is the only caller.

Flop: A92 ($90)
I bet $65, he raises to $165 fairly quickly, I think for a couple seconds and call

Turn: T ($420)
I check, he very quickly goes all in for $550

I let this one go unless I have a better read on the player.

Not true! He's holding A9 sometimes too.

In all seriousness, a flop "snap raise" is a semi-bluff soooooo often that my default inclination is usually to call but ... what draw can he be on here besides exactly KQ? I can see the merits of folding this spot.

AP, your flat turned your AK into a bluff-catcher. Against a bluffy LAG this is a snap-call. Against a nittier player it's a snap-fold. In between, or readless, it's a judgment call. Personally I'd sigh-fold against all but the loosest 10% or so of the player pool and if he bluffed me out, NH sir.

Villain probably doesn't any A better than AT due to limping pre, so we're looking at A9, A2s, 99, 22 for villain's value raising range. Lots of suited hands that he could x/r with though slightly fewer given the Ah on the flop. Don't think he's ever jamming worse for value, but given the number of flush draws in range we probably gotta call.

Ran a sim after typing that, it seems pretty close.

...9xhh... NFDs... Ax freezes... super cool guy triple supreme deluxe value blocker w BD hands like KQhx. Guy is likely overplaying his range no matter what he has because he limp called. He is repping 22 only or, what, A9o? Doesn't sound like a nit and I'm certainly not bet calling either. AK no heart is going into my fu gii range often enough.

This. I can understand floating the flop raise though.

Easy money

I ran an (admittedly wide) range through pokercruncher and came up with about 39% equity for H’s hand. I guess that makes this a call but it’s really close and if this wasn’t a loose/tilty villain I think the range narrows down enough to make it a fold.

AP call it off.

Readless, if I'm playing my "2/5 A game" I'd find a ridiculous exploit fold on the flop vs most villains but ya pretty clear flop call. Turn I think it's a pretty clear call as well, but once again, if playing my "2/5 A game" I find a pretty easy exploit fold here I think. Disclaimer: I haven't played live 2/5 in a long time
