Villain has a 70-80% VPIP, plays extremely aggressive, not completely horrendous as he has bet/folded TP to me earlier OTF but is also dumb enough to call a l/rr from a nit with Q7s $600 deep and donkbet $150 on a 765 two tone board then check it down and lose to KK. Calls raises with a super wide range including garbage. And loves to show bluffs.

OTTH.. 2/5/ UTG blind $15

Hero ($600) AdKh $50 EP,
V ($1500) calls in MP.

Flop ($120): Ts9s2h
Hero checks, V snapbets $70

It’s been 2 hours since I’ve picked up/played or won any hand and I’m just annoyed that I might be getting outplayed here once I wave the green flag. On another hand, if I cbet flop, I don’t know what to do if he calls.

Should I just bet $70 OTF and $170 OTT with my image and get him to fold anything that’s not 2p because I’m sure he will 100% lay down 1p to a turn barrel.

Or do I just play weaktight and check fold?

I don’t like betting flop and giving up turn vs this kind of player. Feels too weak.

Edit: Removed results.

I usually find myself taking the same line against this opponent. He may be "outplaying" us by getting off us AK here but its just a bad run out for us. Hes probably calling a lot of draws and pairs on this board. Add to the fact you hadnt played a hand in awhile hes probably gonna put you on big broadways anyways.

If you do wanna continue with initiative you are going to need fire multiple barrells and there is a lot of turn cards we hate for both value and bluffing cards.

Maybe others will chime in and prove this wrong but thats my two cents.

Checking is good here. Getting into a 100% c-bet game against a bad LAG is just playing into his bad style, inflating pots when both of you have nothing. This is not really a pretty board for c-bets because it hits calling ranges and allows a lot of draws. There are not many run outs you are going to be happy calling down on and any raises you make are going to be bluffs.

With some combination of having position, a more dry board and backdoor equity I would c-bet a lot and decide on the turn if I wanted to continue or not. Against this sort of player you need to c-bet a little more then usual because villain will have air more then not. But this sort of villain is also going to be sticky on the flop a lot because they expect c-bets. You are going to have to be willing to barrel to get them to fold and that gets expensive.

A lot of playing bad LAGs is waiting until you do have value. Once they start folding to your bets then you can mix in some bluffs. But a lot of the reason they are bad LAGs is because they don't learn or don't learn fast enough.

Checking is totally fine here. He's not going to fold a lot and there's a good chance that his hand is connected to this type of board. Trying to bluff calling stations is not the best way to make money.

Imagine a guy like this bet/folding the toppest of pairs to you on the flop. Your image must be horrendous lol. You should try and address that.

I hate this flop with my hand, so I don't mind check/folding, although I do sympathise with how awful if must feel to 3bet pre and check/fold to this guy. Against him I would probably cbet with a spade.

With a tight image against a player like this, I either check/fold the flop or check/raise and be prepared to gii.

The check/raise is obviously high variance, but he should fold a lot of hands, and we probably have A/K as outs or could be ahead.

check/fold

there's a really good quote i read for combating aggro fish:

"would you rather enter a fight to the death with nothing but a pencil in your hand, or taking a beating for a few rounds and then be handed a shotgun?"

ck/fold. Vs. a complete random hand you are even money, and out of position, and even vs. a LAG prob not facing a random hand. He could be bluffing with AQ/AJ, but if he is this is a spot to let him have the bluff.
