This is where I get confused. Since you are IP, when you check the flop, the next opportunity V has to bluff at the pot would be the turn. V in fact bets the turn and now there is $433 in the pot and the board is getting scary. If you trust your read that V is light and has a speculative hand, then to me even after missing the flop bet you should have gotten it in on the turn based on your own logic.

I don't think I could have made the most money if I fold out all of his bluffs. I don't think I need to protect my equity with a speculative hand that flopped the nuts. I saw the road to max value by keeping his range wide. Of course I got possibly the nutlow runout against Vs perceived range. But there are so much more good run outs that get me more value, I thought in the moment.

The turn brought a second 9, which reduces combos of sets he could have. I have T9 and 98 blockers. As played, I should be raising here with the BDFD coming in.

I disagree. You’re describing a very aggro image for yourself, V can easily adjust and limp/raise the top of his range.

Granted he likely doesn’t l/r a ha d like KJs, but I can see this being done with ATs+, I think he’s more likely to l/c eith 22-77 than l/r
