OK this is pretty stupid to continue arguing about but it couldve easily have been

UTG limps
MP straddles $10
Hero limps button
SB completes...or calls (if you want to use that term)
BB completes..or calls

Not sure why OP even mentioned that UTG likes to limp/reraise. Hes not even involved in the hand. More confusion IMO.

Whatever. I just wont respond when the OP isnt clear to me. Problem solved.

Please explain what game you are playing where somebody can limp and then after that player has limped somebody else can say "straddle" and now there is a straddle on ... cuz it certainly isn't hold'em.

^^ Whenever I wake up with a big hand and there are a couple of limps before me, I always try to declare a straddle but for some reason the dealer always shuts me down

Well the OP says that the straddler "competes" so he/she obviously inst clear on terminology.

Who said anything about someone straddling after someone limped?

How are we supposed to know the difference between someone straddling in MP and then UTG limping for $10....and someone straddling UTG and then the actual UTG+1 (who was referred to as UTG) limping?

I'd start with having any semblance of reading comprehension/common sense

By having a reading comprehension level on par with a 3rd grader.

She.

UTG can't limp if the button hasn't acted yet, if the straddle is not to UTG's right.

I get that it wasn't worded perfectly, but everyone seemed to have understood it.

UTG cant limp if the button hasnt acted yet? Huh? UTG is first to act. He does whatever he is going to do before anyone acts.

This is getting more and more bizarre

lol dude holy ****.

if there was a straddle in MP (like you said it was possible to interpret the OP as), action would start to the left of the straddle. therefore the BTN would act BEFORE the UTG player preflop.

you might have the worst reading comprehension i have ever seen lol. if you are not trolling idk what to say.

Enjoyed the "who's on first" comedy ITT. fwiw, the HH was easier to understand when I just glossed over it without examining the details.

I would play the hand the same way OP did.
