Tucco your point is invalid because villain shouldn't have a nutted hand in this spot.

Checking flop isn't horrible but the topic of discussion is our action after villain x/r. Shoving because you are "happy to win the pot right there" has the same level of stupidity as betting to "see where you are at".

Villain doesn't have AQ or KQ in his range and idk why people think that he does. Therefore, since he isn't nutted and doesn't have worse value hands, he either has a hand like Q9 or a pair+gutter/air sort of hand.

By calling OTF and folding to a K T or 8 we severely decrease the equity of his range vs our specific hand while reducing variance as well.

Even if we ship he is getting the right price to call vs our hand with most hands that he has that we are vbetting against.

If you just call the flop, what hands is his range do you think he folds if you shove the turn if a K or T comes?

All description of this villain makes me believe he isn't a thinking lag and is pretty spewy, unless he is competent enough to adjust to game flow this seems like an easy call and turn call spot. Sure board sucks but this Villain can literally have pure air I think TAG players don't include that enough when against LAGs.

Kind of irrelevant since if we call he is shoving turn close to 100% of the time. If he checks on a T specifically we can consider bluff shipping to get him off 9T or something. Still don't think we get enough folds to do so profitably

Yeah, because that is the exact thing that is happening here.

I did not see he c/r before, so I double he will c/r with KJ/KQ/9T/98.

If he will with all of those, then shove.
If he won't, then it's likely a fold.

Pot has $300 before we act again, we have $300 behind, and if we shove, V will have to call $200 more into $600 so he shouldn't be folding any part of his range at all getting 3:1.

Against a pretty decent range of ~1/2 the possible sets, all the suited flopped straights, a bunch of pair+straight draw combos, all suited two pair combos, ~1/2 the unsited two pair combos, TT and no pure bluffs we have ~43% equity. If he ever folds any of these, then our expectation goes up.

Board: Qd Jc 9h
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 43.764% 43.25% 00.52% 202941 2427.00 { AA }
Hand 1: 56.236% 55.72% 00.52% 261465 2427.00 { QhQs, JcJs, JdJh, JdJs, JhJs, TT-99, KTs+, Q9s+, J9s+, T8s+, 98s, KcQd, KcQh, KcQs, KdQh, KdQs, KhQs, QTo+, JTo, Tc9d, Tc9h, Tc9s, Td9h, Td9s, Th9s }

I'm shoving most likely.

Why would he x/r with KQ. Thats not in his range.

He can't call a raise preflop with KQ and then check/raise TP2K + overcard + gutshot (or, as some people call it, "the nuts")?

In a situation like this we can't use terms like never and 100% of the time. The truth is we have no clue what villans check raising range is. Especially in a multi way pot. We could very well be raising with 1 pair for value due to his image etc. I think we need to be checking this multi way to keep our hand under represented. We have more than just the LAG in the hand and we need to figure out who is interested in the pot.

Q J 9 smacks all the callers ranges. Let's see what developes on the turn while managing the pot size while we have 1 pair.

He can if he is a level 1 thinker.

Tell me sir, what better hands is he getting to fold and what worse hands is he getting to call by raising with KQ?

Is this how you typically think too? Oh I flopped equity I must raise even though I'm not folding out better or getting called by worse! But who cares! I has top pair and a gutter!
