2/3 95 in the SB 2/3 95 in the SB

Was card dead most of the session, my stack was at about 80.

Hero with 95 in SB.

MP limps, everyone folds to Hero, I complete. BB checks.

Flop 984

Hero bets out 10, BB calls, MP goes all-in with his remaining 55 dollars.

MP is a fairly loose and weak player. BB is tighter, most solid.

Hero should?

Fold pre with these stack sizes, even with great odds...

Honestly I'd probably just c/f the flop. Our hand is really bad.

Fold here. All 9's have us crushed and we're only flipped with JT. If the other player comes along, we're in even worse shape.

c/c flop would be my preferred line

as played, you kinda have to call with your stack being so short

btw, whats the cap for this game?

100BBs. I usually buy win with 50.

50BBs = $150 is what I usually buy in with.

Maybe I should up it to $200.

95s is unplayable with 26BB. Impossible to make money with it from any position. Fold pre.

You can definitely complete your blind here. B/F is fine 3-handed.

Good point on pre. I was thinking fold, but it just costs us $1. We 're getting 8:1 direct and contributing on 1/80th of our stack. Yeah completing is fine.

Though folding isn't terrible - I say things "aren't terrible" when they really aren't terrible. Folding a mid/low suited 3 gapper from the worst possible position is a completely immaterial mistake if it is even a mistake.

Really I think it has less to do with how good the odds you are getting are and more to do with the table personality. I have to imagine in a 2/3 game the SB is not often folded, and probably people notice when someone does. It's not that I don't want people to think I am tight but I just don't like thinking someone would see me make a super tight SB fold and be inspired to start playing tighter from the SB. To me any later value that can be gained by just saying eff it and tossing a dollar in there would certainly outweigh any -EV that this hand could be. That said, I also think the hand itself has enough value so folding seems double-lame.

Edit- I would still fold some hands, but this hand isn't even close.

I get it's only a dollar, but why call? The best you'd hope for is 2 pair and even 2 pair with 9-5 is horrid. Save your money, even if it's a dollar. It shows that you're willing to give up a dollar to not play a terrible hand and maybe down the road you can use that info that villains have acquired from that and scoop up a pot with a reraise pre. Other wise... You're burning money. Think of it as being in a restaurant and all the upsales that bartenders and servers offer... Sure it's only 2-3 dollars for bacon and/or guac, but the restaurant profits 20-30 from multiple people buying that from open to close. If we see x amount of hands every orbit being in the small blind and we throw the extra dollar, it adds up. We are playing to profit regularly and present an image. Sure, you flopped a 9 on a fairly low board... But you've been reraised.. Now what? You've burned even more money that could've easily been avoided preflop

Also, there's 9 in the pot? Maybe less considering a rake...so say, 6-7 bucks? Why bet? Check and see what MP does..

And the reason for a check is because, to me, when someone leads out like you did, it often represents a draw or weak hand and I usually consider it as a blocker bet. He's right to re raise you even if he has air... You have top pair, ya, but a terrible kicker. And assuming he has such a short stack, I'd assume he has some kind of pocket pair and just limped in in hopes to 4 bet preflop after a raise.
