what is that? Enlighten me please as to this fallacy...
The sunk cost fallacy is a general term for thinking that relates the size of prior investments to the current situation. I thought I saw it in your first post, where you claimed that as I had invested nothing in the pot (since I saw it for "free"), it should be easy for me to fold. If I had called in EP with 87, though, I would have invested $3 in the pot, but the correct action would be the same as it is here.

JBīs analysis in this thread inspired me to take a weird inducing/bluff catching line where I would normally just bet to take it down.

V is a stabby LAG. Playing more than 50% of his hands. Thinking player. Large winner and obv. much better player than hero. Mostly plays 2/5,5/10PLO. One of the players Iīm not comfortable having on my left when very deep (500BB+)

Hero has a tight, perhaps nitty image. Havenīt battled with V too much.

V and other guy limps, hero calls A3 in MP, button limps, SB completes. 5 to flop.

Flop: JJ6r

Checked to hero who would normally bet here but opts to check, checked around.

Turn: J (completes rainbow)

V bets $7 into $9.50, one fold, hero looks left and can see a fold, hero tank calls, SB thinks for awhile and then folds (likely folded an ace here)

($23) River: 9

V tanks and seems to have a decision, then bets $17, hero calls, V mucks.

Always sweet to win a pot with A high, must have had a great read

Personally I'm not limping A3s from mp. Sometimes opening, sometimes folding, but not limping. I'm also not going to bother bluff catching with A high in this spot. Just my .02 don't kill me.

I would be More incline to call and see what happens on the river.
Given the reads is a tough spot either way. I can see the reasoning behind fold and would just take a mental note and see if he does it again.
