#1

Playing some 2/2 at my local cardroom I have about $250 in front of me at start of hand. UTG raises to $10, I am next to act look down at AKos and make it $25. Everyone folds as it gets to the button and he snap calls with a $200 stack with no reads on him. Blinds fold and original raiser folds also.

Flop comes 10s 3h Qs

I bet $40 he snap calls

Next card is 5s Hero?

I feel I made a massive donk mistake here and I am looking for insight.

Should have just kept barreling or checked to play it safe?

#2

Hero has $200 in front of him facing 4 limpers on the button.

I look down at AKos and make it $25.

Blinds fold and two of the limpers with both around $200 call, both seem tight.

Flop comes 10d Ac Jd.

Both limpers check it comes to me I bet $30, 1st limper calls, 2nd shoves.

Hero?

The great thing about AK is that it is a good hand. The bad thing about AK is that it is the hand that every bad player puts you if you raise pf.

Hand 1, he's probably calling you pf with a medium pp. You missed and he isn't going away. C/f is fine, you're beat.

Hand 2, a shove is usually a draw or a weak hand. Shove over if you have the shoving villain covered. That said, you will lose this some of the time.

Hand #1 What are you trying to accomplish 3 betting from that position? What hand are you getting value from that will call your 3 bet?

Hand #2 Why are you betting 1/3 pot on a wet board? I would check back here and go for value on the turn(unless you know villians will push draws and therefore you are betting for value) after I see what villians do.

This is good stuff. I think info like this will really help me shape my live game.

Thanks!

Hand 1.

Readless I 3bet more here pre, probs ~35.
I probs just chk fold this flop without any spades, tho if villan is spewy might chk/call with A spades. re evaluate turn.

Hand 2.

I make it $15 to go on button.
Also I chk behind against 2 tight players on a flop like this. Not quite sure why we're betting less than half pot here..
as played I sigh fold.

#2 bet 2/3 pot minimum. They have a pair + gutshot way to often.
