2nd round on a new table.
MP was playing a lot of hands and seemed to bet a lot.

Hero SB: JJ ($100)
MP & BTN both had me covered.

fold, fold, fold, MP calls, fold, fold, fold, BTN raises to $12, Hero raises to $30, fold, MP calls, BTN calls

flop: T94 (pot: $90)
Hero bets $30, call, call

turn: 5 (pot $150)
Hero bets $40 (all-in)

Wasn't sure what to do with this hand at all.
Should I 3bet larger pre? Should I bet the flop larger?
Should I bet the turn / river?
Did I play fine?

I think 30 is a bit small but not terrible. Would have gone standard 3x to 35. Makes pot 105 w 2 calls and easy shove on flop for remaining 65.

I think your bigger mistake is not shoving remaining stack on flop, not your pf sizing.

Shove flop

Why $30? Is Tx and QJ folding to $70 but calling $30? The two bets get called by mostly the same range so get more value OTF

Preflop i think 30 is absolutely ok, but you could also go to like 35-40 ish depending on your villains. If you believe they will call with worse, go ahead and bloat the pot up preflop.

Now you got a very nice flop to continue on, and 1/3 of the pot is not enough here like Duke also mention. You certainly will be called by worse and can get value from a lot of hands- like a strong 10 or straightdraws.

To commit the rest of your stack on this totally brick turn is fine and standard with those stacksizes and the way the hand was played.

Instead of 30 i would go like 60-70 on the flop.

Just shove the flop.

Given how short you are, $30 pre is ok but I'd still prefer it to be a bit larger. Flop is mandatory shove. JJ is very vulnerable here and you don't want to give them the right price to call so ship it in there. In general, if you see a flop with less than a pot size bet left, shoving is generally the optimal bet to make.

Yup ... 35-40 PF ... you are going all-in PF or Flop here anyway so get a couple of extra bucks out of them before they see the board.

Flop is all-in multi-way for sure if not every time with this board anyway. Any A/K/Q are still bad for you ... make um pay a premium or take it down. GL
