New to the game no reads on anyone. I'm mostly a limit player that dabbled in some spread limit to get a feel for the game.

Dealt 77 utg +1 raise to $9 get 3 calls

Dealer exposed a 9 preflop

Flop 993

I bet $24 folds to older guy on the button who min raises to $48

I call.

Turn Q

I check. He checks back.

River Q. I check again he starts mumbling about if I have the Queen

Max bets $100...

I was a bit confused by the check back on the turn

What's the question?

With no other information give up to the min raise on the flop. Depending on villain this could be a lot of different hands but it's usually one that beats you. I could be a 9X hand trying to inflate the pot or it could be a pocket pair finding out where they are. There are opponents who will min raise bluff but it's rare.

In any case fold on the river, you are counterfeited and most bluffs beat you at that point. There is an outside chance you are beating a low pair but that is it.

Do not fold to flop minraise. It's a "raise for information" often enough to call.

Fold river... you have 7 high. Given the exposed 9, I can be on board with calling the min-raise on the flop, although I'm wary of calling raises from old guys in general.

He has a 3 or a PP and puts you on AK/AQ.

He never has a 9 because those raise the turn.

You can't call the river but you could fold or raise depending on what he value bets and what he bluffs here.
