This is a wild game. It's Saturday night there are 3 complete degenerates at the table. First hour: Hero is down 60, the last two hours hero is up 70. Sitting at 270 UTG with JJ
Hero raises 15.
Degen 1 folds
MP (tight player) re-raises, makes it 40. He's at 200 or so.
Degen 2 on Button calls 40, he's at 600
Degen 3 in Small Blind calls, maybe he's at 150 or so.
Everyone else folds. The pot is 138 when it comes back to me.
Should I call, reraise or fold here?
I feared a reraise as the MP is very tight. This was his first raise in 2 hours and it was a reraise. Hero???

This is pretty close. Typically I would say just call the 3bet but this doesn't sound like a typical 1/2 game. We are probably crushing the BTN and the SB so it can't be that bad to jam. Especially because ime there's a chance MP folds QQ/AKo and we get called by BTN and SB when we jam.

Honestly I'm fine with calling or jamming. In game I'd probably just jam it in.

i sort of wish I would have now. I feared the tight player would all in if i reraised which is why i called but by doing so i allowed a degen party to occur

Call and setmine. If it was a loose, crazy player who made the raise then ship it. But against a tight player who rarely 3-bets, this is QQ+ most of the time.

my image would not be noticed by the degens lol but my image to a thinking player would be 10s+ or AK+. Honestly, i wouldn't shove with AQ ever but it kind of seems like--from the forum--the game has passed me by in that regard. I don't like 3 bets with AQ but it seems like they're in vogue now

The tight player told me he had KK after he folded. My attempt to set mine (here at least) was OK if he really had KK.
The flop went
4-8-Ace of diamonds. It was a rainbow flop that I know.
I checked. Rockier player checked.
Degen 2 bet 50. Degen 3 folded.
I folded but then the rockier player folded too!
I told him after the hand that--due to my knowledge of degen 2 (he 3 bets with 9/7 off, says that's his "favorite hand") that he or I would have had the winner.
Rockier player is a Young Man Coffee but he looked disgusted after the hand for an hour as he played rarely and raised never. Great guy to have on your left!

We're calling 25 to win 160. So we're getting 6.4:1 and we're a 7.5:1 against flopping a set. With a really small amount of implied odds this is definitely profitable to set mine.

oh yeah man, if i would have reraised to 100 on the flop degen 2 would have insta called. The guy is so predictable that if i checked turn he'd bet 4 green chips believing my check. He's really a basketcase but money means nothing to him (unlike me) so he's occasionally a huge winner in our game.

So you're only opening TT+ and AK? You're limping or folding everything else? No wonder you are treading water in a game with 3 maniacs. You have to open up your range some more.

It's not "vogue". People don't 3-bet with AQ because it's fashionable.

i didn't mean they 3 bet because it was fashionable. That's a figure of speech. I meant it was in practice. Yes, I fold just about everything UTG. I suppose I would open with 77 and 88 though. As my position improves my hand range widens.

FWIW 3betting AQ is a huge mistake in a lot of situations at 1/2-2/5 and full ring in general.
