Main BU Villain is quite aggressive, saw quite a few squeezes from him in the past half hour or so, likes to bet in position.

Preflop:
HJ ($600): Hero calls $3 with
Spoiler:
22

BU ($600): Raise to $16
BB ($900): Call $16
Hero calls $16

Flop ($49): 224
BB checks
Hero bets $15
BU calls $15
BB folds

Turn ($79): A
Hero checks
BU checks

River ($109): 9
Hero bets $35
BU raises to $135
Hero raises to $245
BU calls

1. What does Hero's hand look like?
2. What is Villain's calling range on the River 3-bet?

I didnt click on spoiler but you're definitely pretty nutted here. Right when you donked the flop on that board I was thinking at least a deuce was in your hand. Checked turn to give him a chance to bet on the ace, or you filled up with A2. When you raise river seems to me right in line with one on those types of hands. Dunking is what fish do to induce bets with their value hands.

Villains calling range on river...depends. For me it would be a snap fold without a boat. For most $1/$3 live players they probably call with any 2.

Your hand looks like 44 or A2s.

Also don't limp you should just open these hands yourself.

44 or 22 are the most obvious possibilities after the preflop limp/call and then getting aggressive later in hand. Outside chance of A2 suited or 99. Hero's play on the river has "I have something close to the nuts" written all over it.

Villain's calling range varies but a good villain should be looking at 2X or a boat unless hero has a super spewy garbage image. AK is a hero call in this situation.

Flop lead is atrocious, start with a check.

Villain is aggressive; definitely took that fact into consideration.

He's not folding anything on that low flop.

I was also thinking that by the River re-raise, my hand looks like 44 or 99 minimum.

Spoiler:
I was surprised he called, which is why I created this thread. I didn't see his hand, so am not sure what he called with; he did tank for a long time before ultimately making the call.

I feel like the standard flop x/r would have made me less money.
