Hero(CO): ~900. Late 20s white guy. Been playing pretty TAG, but have not played a hand in the short time villain has been at table.

Villain(BTN): ~490 55 year old white guy. Only at the table for an orbit but has shown he is willing to mix it up. A few hands ago he UTG straddled to 6, then raised over 5 limpers with 86s. He ended up turning a straight flush for a high hand and seems pretty pumped up from that.

2 limps from loose players, Hero raises to 18 in the CO with AhJh. Villain and limpers call.

(77) Flop: Ad8s3s. Checks to hero who bets 40. Hoping to charge draws and get value from worse hands. Villain raises to 120. Folds to hero who calls because he perceives that villain could be bluff raising his flush draws. Maybe I can fold here?

(317) Turn: Ac. Hero checks to villain who puts in 200 of his 350 remaining. Hero?

I like at least $25 pre, as an exploit of course. We should be trying to get it HU (3 ways is fine too) and $18 will incentivize the limpers to stay in there and try and outdraw you. It’s large in theory but not for your typical 1/3 game over 2 limpers.

Flop is a check 4 ways imo with an unpredictable player behind you. Even at 1/3, everyone knows that the A hit you and button seems to not care. That’s rarely a good sign, as I highly doubt he’s trying to push you off an A. With a 7 SPR, I let this one go. I get that this player is capable of mixing it up, but it’s still rather unclear as to what his raising range looks like here and if you were to do some combinatorics here you’d find that it’s a sticky spot, at best. Except for AA, AK I’m giving him most of the value hands that beat you.

AP shove, obviously

I feel like we have to get it in here since V could easily have AsXs. He probably 3 bets pre some percentage of the time with AQ, AK

Thank you, sizing up pre here is an appropriate adjustment. I also see the merit in check/calling the flop to avoid bloating the pot with a marginal hand, and to hopefully induce V to bluff as I suspect he may bet a large percentage of his holdings when checked to.
