1/3 Live 10-Handed (No Rake, Time Charge)

Hero and villian both have around $275.

UTG+2 opens to $25. She is a middle-aged black woman. She just sat down about 20 minutes ago. She is loose preflop and passive postflop. Her preflop raising range seems pretty wide because she raised for $40 with A8s in a non-steal.

Everyone folds to me in the CO. I have 9s 9h.

I raise to $50 to isolate. Everyone folds to her and she calls.

Flop ($107): Ts 4s 4h

She bets $50.

Your play?

Bruh. Random middle aged black woman just opened to $25 in a 1/3 game with a $275 stack. 99 is not ahead of that range (and rarely flops well). Now with your lol minraise “iso” pre it’s like a 2 SPR on the flop. Your preflop play in this hand put you in this fun spot where you have to make a decision for stacks.

If you're going to 3! pre here, I would definitely go much larger. AP call and evaluate. I'm folding if she fires a second barrel, but betting small for protection if she checks to me on turn.

She sat down 20 minutes ago, that's like 8 hands or so. Has she openraised to 8x on 5 or more of those hands? Otherwise this is a pretty ambitious 3bet. And if we are 3betting with the more "ambitious" part of our range, we would definitely like some folds, so 3bet bigger please. But really, this is quite an easy flat pre.

AP, fold flop. Yeah sure, she could be buttonclicking with some FD's and possibly 55-88, but her range should actually be fairly strong here. Not too mention there aren't many safe turns anyway.

Yeah I agree with just flatting PF, not doing the 3-bet.

My initial reaction would be to call the flop and reevaluate on the turn. But then there's so few good cards. Might make your life easier to just get out of it here and try again with her when you have a better read.

Didn't grunch for some reason but think I'm cooler with a flat than a 3bet preflop. She also sized her out-of-line raise to get folds, where as here it looks like she sized to get calls. She plays passive postflop, so let her expose her hand postflop with us in position, imo.

Good point with the different sizing. I actually thought she was weaker with the lower raise but that's probably incorrect.

In this spot preflop, what are you guys doing with TT?

In this hand, I folded to her flop bet.
