Dealt A5 in hijack

UTG straddle to $6 I raise to $18, SB, BB, and UTG call.

Pot $72 flop A77

Turn 5, checks to UTG(MABG w/ sunglasses) he bets $20, I call, everyone else folds.

You beat only bluffs.
And chop with some other bluffs.

Probably a fold.

I can't think of a hand you beat, but $45 into $112 might induce a call from me. Surely fold is right. J or higher on the river or turn and I call all day.

We need about 22% equity to call, and we don't have that unless we put an optimistic number of bluffs in his range. If the river card were high, we'd chop enough for it to be a clear call, but it looks like a fold on this runout.

From the looks of this hand and your other hand you posted, you play at a typical loose table. So your small iso attempt in the HJ with 5 people still to react behind you has little chance of isolating or gaining position. I'd just overlimp unless table is fairly aggro preflop (in which case I'd fold).

I'm cool with the check back on the flop. Highly unlikely we're getting value from worse hands on this flop (especially multiple streets of value). If any bets do go in postflop, we'd much rather them be us underrepping our hand and inducing to call bluffs, although even facing a second postflop bet will be quite gross.

I also call the small turn bet.

Methinks the river is pretty much 100% read dependent. We've underrepped our hand so that leans towards a call. The problem is that a lot of people don't double barrel bluff and are pretty happy to check and showdown any hands that have showdown value that lose to an Ace, and this bet simply looks very valuey. If this guy has ever bluffed before, easy call. If he's more ABC, it's not as clear.

Sounds like a limp fest. Fold pre.

not raising A5suited in the hj with a straddle seems so nitty to me. size seems fine also.

i call river, spades and straight draw missed and price is good. paired board also brings out the weird in people.
