H opens $12 MP with 66
V calls $12 CO
BB calls $12

Flop ($34, 3ways) is K64r

BB checks, H bets $15, V calls $15, BB folds

Turn ($61, HU) is 6
Now I have quads and there's a flush draw

H bets $40
V calls $40

River ($133, HU) is 9
Flush misses, board is K6469

H ???
(We have $233 behind)

Do we go for a x/r on the river or is it better to continue barreling? And what size do we choose?

Why x/r if you think the villain is passive?

I probably push, passive villains like to pay me of with good TP/two pair type of hands in these spots, but then again I usually have quite a LAG image. Push or 80, I guess.

Just size for a K, maybe a touch larger considering he called 40 ott, 70 or so.
You have no option other than to value bet players with no bluffs.

Casually say "Same bet, $40" and put it out hoping to get called or raised. Shoving makes no sense to me....never called often enough especially by a passive player.

Shoving is ridiculous. Whatever you bet [for value] if he struggles before calling, you priced it just right. If he snap calls, you didn't bet enough. If he folds, you bet too much.

That's a very results-oriented way of thinking... remember that I'm playing against a range of hands, not a specific hand, so however he reacted to the bet I made in this specific instance does not determine how good my bet was.

Eg. If villain has a busted straight draw, then checking is best, but if villain has AK, then a large sized bet is best.

I totally agree. This is excellent analysis. Only a terrible player calls a shove here with this board if they have top pair moderate kicker.

Bet between 90 and 160 into 133.

233 is too much to jam and is going to cause him to fold a lot of KQ/KJ type hands.

I would pot it on the turn assuming Villain is pretty stationy, which would make the pot $180 with $210 behind on the river which makes for a much more reasonable river shove.

Don’t get attached to your actual hand, just think about value. Like if you bet $70 here with KQ and get tank called by KJo then you played the hand well right? Same thing. Don’t think you always have to stack people when you flop sets/flushes and you will make a lot of money.

Before I get countered, I realize we *should* be thinking about stacking people a lot (for example my flop bet would have been $23 and turn bet 75%, but still, I’ve had some monstrous sessions where I just value bet 60% pot all the time and never stacked anyone.
