History:

Villain (350): Will stack off with TPTK. Playing 3-4 hands per orbit. Raising premium hands to 17. Will Cbet if he connects with the board. Villain is IP.

Hero (160): Waiting to stack villain. LAG, may play too many hands. Sat down 20 minutes ago. Villain doesn't have many reads on me. Hero is UTG.

OTTH:

Hero limps with 85cc. Obviously this is a fold preflop, but I'm trying to play hands with high implied odds to stack villain.

Villain raises to 15, only the hero calls.

Flop (33): Qc,2s,2c

Hero Checks, Villain bets 40, Hero Shoves

My thought process is that he's going to cbet this flop when he hits. I know I have him crushed if I hit the flush since he's playing his card face up and screaming that he has TP. However I don't want to call his 40 dollar bet on the flop then fold to a turn shove. If he calls me then I will hit 33% of the time.

What do you guys think?

So let me get this straight. Villain will bet flop when he hits, he will stack off with top pair
So our plan is to check raise a weak flush draw all in after he bets expecting him to call off and then we get the money in as a 2-1 underdog.

Fold pre. This is not how to beat this guy out of his money.

Shoving the flop with the intend of drawing if get called is a waste of money if you're not drawing to the nuts with 2 overs to the flop. I would shove the flop with AKs if I was the preflop raiser. This way I will give hell to all other AK and have a chance to beat QQ, JJ, when they missed to improve on the flop.

It's funny because you've articulated the hand well, but everything involving game theory is horrendously wrong.

Beside what was said, your c/s on the flop looks exactly like what you have, a flush draw.

If you had a 2, you would c/r less, wanting the call. A Q and you might have bet, but will call hoping to improve. QQ and V would have expected you to raise PF.

The shove is to maximize FE and translates to a draw.

There really isn't much you can do on that board after the $40 flop bet when you're starting the hand with $160.

Now, if everything was the same, but the stacks were much deeper and V will call a turn c/r, maybe (and I do mean maybe).

What I think you're trying to do is simplify the post-flop play so you don't have to play multiple streets. That is not how you win at poker.

To play this hand profitably, the situation needs to be right. This is not the right situation.

1) To have implied odds, effective stack size needs to be deep. You are not deep. You only have 80bbs. In this specific situation, I would want at least 150bbs, if not more, before I would even think about playing this hand.

2) Position. You are out of position. It's tough to play draws out of position.
