325 eff

V(MP) - Calling and limping quite a bit, bets when he has it postflop usually, but have seen him bluff 4 flush OOP on the river with air.
Raises are usually a tighter range. Raised to $15 earlier from SB after a couple of limps with AA

H (BTN) - Active image

V(MP) opens to $20, 1 call, H(BTN) 3b w/QQ $80. Only V calls

Flop JT9r (180)
V checks, H ???

What is the plan for the hand here?

Bet 135 OTF. Shove any non ace or 7 turn.

Kind of an awkward SPR of ~1.3. Too short to make this a 2 street hand, so I'd just jam the flop. The only reasonable hand you're in bad shape against is KQ and you of course block that substantially.

Very awkward SPR. Would like to make it like $90-$100 here so its closer to a pot size jam.

Honestly I'm okay with jamming or betting like $75. The question is, is the value of letting hands like ATs and KTs call flop for $75 and maybe make a light turn call more +EV than the protection gained from jamming. Stacks are going in when villain has hands like all the sets, 2p, and AJ, KJ, QJ anyway, so the only difference is should we target villains medium 1p hands by betting small.

In the moment I would probably just jam because this looks like a scary board where value and protection are urgent. However, the only really bad turns are Ax and sometimes a Q, which happen like 10% of the time. So I'm okay with betting small and just going with it on any turn.

You could make it a two street hand if you down bet the flop 60/180 and then shove 185/300 on the turn.

Are we jamming this flop for protection? I'm not sure what value we get with hands in V's raise/call range that will call off a jam. Surely JJ-99 (JTs,T9s?) can snap it off, and he can fold his missed broadways?? I thought I am only missing value against a hand like KJs, AJ? but I doubt he gets here with them.

Along these lines, I decided in the moment to check and see a turn.

Flop JT9r (180)
V checks, H checks

Turn 7 (bd spades) (no Qs in my hand)
V checks, H ??

I understand that I probably misplayed this and we can profitably bet/call against anything really on the flop and save myself the trouble.

Jam. Hand isn't that interesting.

When the SPR is as small as it is in this case you're jamming for value, protection.

On this board, with this SPR, nothing else really makes sense. Board is pretty wet so we'd really want to bet big or check in this spot. Checking seems awful with the SPR and betting big for any other size than all in just doesn't make sense.

This hand is a perfect example of why non deep stack live poker can be so silly sometimes
