V: has been at the table longer than hero, stacks very similar. competent player, hasn't gotten out of line too much, but has shown that he can bluff.

OTTH:

H: JJ (with Jd) in MP
V: MP+2

Preflop: 2 limpers, H raises to $20, V re-raises to $50, folds to H, who calls the $50

Flop ($100): 976dd
Hero leads for $30, V calls

Turn ($160): 6d
x/x

River ($160): blank
x/x

Thoughts?

I would have bet turn, personally. V could have big pairs with no diamonds, he could have AKo with one diamond, etc. Some of those things beat you or have equity and you want to push them out.

Without knowing stacks, I go $80 on the turn. It is enough that an AKo with one diamond is getting -ev to call, and legitimate enough to scare off qq/kk hands with no diamonds.

Edit to add: That is a super weak flop bet. I'm not sure what you were hoping to accomplish. You're letting draws stick around. If your goal was to pretend you're on a diamond draw who is setting a price, then you set up a perfect 1/2 to 3/4 pot bet on turn. Otherwise... I don't get it.

Flop lead is bizarre. Hard to analyze because if you lead this what do you check? Your ranges will be all screwed up if you lead this, so don’t.

What do you do/think if H bets turn and gets raised?
