Hi all,

I just moved to this table and cover everyone. I have 600 to start

V1: has been here for around 15 mins and played every hand. He did bluff a river with the Ah blocker (3 hearts) and got called by a small flush. I think he said he is waiting for the 5/10 game

H: he hasn’t seen me play any hands and I only had to show down AK when it went to showdown

OTTH: V limps 3 others limp, I limp button with Js 9c (usually will never do this but whatever)

Blinds call

(21) Flop Ac Jc 9s

He leads for 15 folds to me I call.. could possibly consider raising here?

(51) Turn 6s

He bets 30 we call

(111) River 5c

He jams for 128

Thoughts?

I'm not even sure where to start. I know you said you typically don't limp the button here, why do it now?

Would probably have been better check raising the flop to something like $60.

When you say V bluffed the river earlier (in the last 15 minutes?) do you mean he got stacked? If so, that kind of makes me want to call. Typically if he's aggro enough to bluff a stack, I'd expect AJ to be raised pre, same with 78s. Hard to tell though in a limped pot like this.

In the moment, I'm probably calling it off (mostly because your incredibly under-repped). I'm sure there's merit to folding as well.

Not folding, yes the main fd gets there but everything else doesn't and I expect a lot of his flop leading range to be raised pre

Don't think limping otb is bad here at all, I'm obviously folding pre HJ and earlier

I didn't read your preface.

When you limp pre I think, "whatever" but you have to flop gin.

Flop: yeah, you can raise, I can't think of a reason not to.

River as played I fold; he goes 15, 30, 128, and why can't we have a draw that got there?

Now reading preface, it's still probably a fold as he's just been caught bluffing so maybe isn't now but mostly still folding due to 15, 30, shove 128.

What position does V limp from?

Pre: marginal, but assuming the other limpers are a bit deeper than the villain, it's probably fine.

Flop: if he limped from UTG, i probably flat, he likely limps AJ and sets from those positions at a decent frequency. If he limped from MP, i probably raise/gii since he should have more marginal hands (draws) that we want to get it in with.

Turn: Yeah fine.

River: Fold. He probably jams QT/T8 at some frequency, but he's likely to have a bunch of flushcombos here and we need to be good like >35% of the time.

Raise flop stuff good turns. AP what do you think? Routine fold.

Sure you lose more with my line, but that's obv not the point.

It’s tough I leaned slightly more towards a call bc I had the 9c blocking some of his potential flushes

He had A7

I think it seems reasonable from him to turn it into a bluff with excellent blockers

It’s horrendous. He’s blocking swaths of a folding range. He ain’t thinking about nothing.

Pre is fine imo.

I would raise either the flop, or more likely the turn.

Preflop is completely fine / standard for me.

I'm completely fine with our flop / turn play. We're not looking to play for stacks in a multiway limped pot with bottom / medium two pear against most opponents, even on a somewhat drawy board, and don't want to raise anyone off a weaker hand they could be bet/folding.

Now that the main draw got there I think we have to lean to a sigh fold. Ax typically doesn't play like this (they check/evaluate worrying we just hit our draw). There's only a handful of busted draws (T8/etc.).

ETA: Just realized this guy is only playing with $170ish. In that case, think I'm cooler with attempting to play for stacks with him on earlier streets. With $600 stacks, much cooler with a calldown line.

raise flop, jam turn or just call flop and jam turn. just don't let him see a river without putting his stack in. he didn't come to fold top pair or a flush draw.
