Reads: Hero is MAWG late 20's, V1 is MAWG early 40s no sign of OMC attitude. Only played a few hands at table not much for reads.

OTTH: effective stacks are approx 300

Preflop: Hero opens for 15 AQ button calls V1 calls in SB. Pot is 45.

Flop: A87 V1 checks, hero bets 25, only V1 calls. Pot 95

Turn: K V1 check hero bets 45, V1 raises to 145??? (Tough spot #1)
Hero ends up calling. Pot is 385.

River: T V1 tanks for literally over a minute, in my opinion does not look like Hollywood and eventually puts me all-in for last 110"ish" (Tough spot #2)

I don't know if Tough Spot #1 is that tough. It's generally a standard fold. We aren't beating much and it's unlikely V is doing this with AJ.

And when you decide to call, you should anticipate Tough Spot #2...which again is not that tough. I know you're hoping for a river check down but V is clearly trying to play for stacks OTT.

OTR we can't beat AT anymore which I assume you had in his turn raise range since you called TS1. Fold.

Thanks DTLB, that was almost my exact thought process, it was one of those spots where my instincts just said something didn't feel right and the board was so dry so I got sticky and peeled off the turn, like 95% I just fold and move on in this spot. As played I don't believe he will blast 2 pair for value OTR unless he has specifically AK, so his range in my mind was busted straight draw(unlikely) Bluff(unlikely) or set of 77 or 88(most likely) but I just felt like something was amiss.

I completely agree with your analysis though thanks for the input

I just fold turn in this spot but if I call the turn, I call that river. I don't think our TPGK is good, but if it is, it usually still is.

SPR is a very difficult 6ish. Stacks will be very easy to get in; even small 1/2 PSBs on the flop/turn will only leave us with a PSB for the river (where we will probably feel committed). And yet we gave pretty decent 20+ implied odds preflop. Not a great spot, imo.

If we think opponents are bad enough to call a raise with a worse A and stack off with it postflop (we're like targetting basically just AJ and AT), then I guess stack off.

Otherwise, the board isn't *that* drawy (just a straight draw). The more ABC non-bluffy they are, the more I would bet/fold two streets and evaluate the river. The more trickier they are (especially if they can bet busted draws) the more I might check an early street and setup a bluff catcher.

As played, I'd fold to the turn raise. Also, we can't be calling off huge percentages of our stack not knowing what we're going to do on the river; at the very least, we have to have a plan for that (admittedly, the T ain't the best card as an overplayed AT does get there, but most players do not check/raise the turn with AT).

I just fold the turn. If you are not planning to fold turn, just gii on turn. I don't see the point of just calling.
