Ok, wondering for comments on how I could have played this hand better. I've only played live a couple of times.

Couple orbits in, I get KK in early position and bet $10 and aggressive active high betting guy to my left raises to $25. He had stacked off several hands before that so I thought he might be steaming, and was already counting the money in the bank. Folded around to me and I grabbed a stack of chips and did a forward motion without announcing raise, and I was counting out chips, reaching for more etc. I momentarily blanked I guess, didnt realize what I was doing.

Guy says, that isnt a raise etc. So I say, OK. and just get to call the $25.

Flop is 542 and I bet out the $55 I had in my hand that I was trying to reraise with pre, and he says a speech about how I must have KK or AA and he tables QQ...

I was steaming all night because of that hand as I think he would have stacked off pre...

Should I have checked flop? Probably wouldnt have helped?

You pretty much screwed the pooch with your failed raise.

In regards to the hand, bet more than $10 pre and your $55 bet on the flop is too strong (you went from $25 to $55 and even though it is essentially a pot size bet, when you increase the bet size by that much it often sends off alarm bells to live fish.
