Hero:UTG+2 ~150
V1: LJ ~90, New to table from must move. Loose fishy player but with a tighter post flop continuing range.
V2: HJ ~ 250 Loose aggro fish who was about 4-5 buy ins deep at this point and somewhat tilted.

Hero limps with J8cc in UTG+2. Probably not great and should probably have folded I get it but there was a fair amount of limping going on in this game and very few folds to any raise below 20-25. I was also tilted so OTTH.

V1, V2, BB limp.

I bet 5 to thin the field a bit and build the pot with my OESD. V1 calls. V2 raises to 25. V2 was raising to 25 as a standard bet with any equity so took this to mean any pair, SD, Overcards and better. I call, V1 raises to 80, V2 calls after thinking for a bit. I call. My thought is that we’re looking at about 20% equity to call in this spot and with and OESD, backdoor flush draw, and 1 overcard we have enough here.

Turn Kc.

I go all in for ~60 more. Not really expecting a fold that often but given the fact that I’d be obligated at this point to call any raise which given this players tendencies is likely I figure I might as well bet it and pick up any marginal fold equity I have here.

What do y’all think? I think I could’ve potentially played each street differently. Folded pre, folded flop, shoved flop over the 25 since QJ, 99, TT, T9s should all be unlikely given the preflop action from both players so the only strong hands should be two pairs and 55. I could’ve also shoved over the 80 but I honestly felt like I had a bit more fold equity on the turn than on the flop from V2 and I perceived V1s range to be top pair, two pair and a couple draws which I block.

If you are going to sit with 50bb, you absolutely cannot limp from EP with hands like this. It makes zero sense.

Do you really think $5 is going to thin the field and why do you want to build a pot with eight outs? If you are going to bet the flop, bet the flop. Honestly, though, I'd just check and see what happens.

As played, the rest is fine, but you should not be here. If I was going to go for it, though, I'd just shove the flop over the $80 and pray.

+ 1 to all previous comments. I'd recommend looking into hand selection based on the effective stack. This will help get a solid base to begin.

As played, fine. Once there is a $25 raise from a tilted V, I'd just gii on the flop. You might get V1 to fold a mid/sm pair (before he R/R) and you have equity vs. V2.

Thanks for the feedback, I agree with all the comments the thin the field thing was in the moment but I realize looking back it was obviously dumb.

Result was that V1 had T9cc
V2 had J9o.
River was an eight.
