V(MP,$300): late 20s white man. First time play with him. Loose preflop. Limps a lot. Haven't seen him raise big or 3 bet tonight.

Hero(UTG,$600): Play tight in general, but bluffed V and showed early.

Preflop: Hero raises to $15 with QQ. v raises to $35. Hero calls. Should I 4 bet here to 110, fold to 5bet/al in?

Flop (73) 8T4r

H checks, V bets $50.

Turn(173):2

H checks. V all in, about 215 for hero to call. Snap fold????

If you assign the villain a tight PF range of KK+, you're barely getting enough odds to set mine. If you think he'll 3-bet AK or JJ but will fold to a 4-bet, calling is fine.

What kind of range are you assigning the villain?

The near min-raise preflop isn't designed to get you out of the pot but still puts more then 1/10th of villain's stack in. That is a line for AA/KK to get an opponent committed to the pot. If villain has not been 3 betting at all, I probably fold the queens preflop if nobody else is involved.

As played, you can't give up on a good over pair on the flop but folding on the turn is fine.

I put him on QQ KK AA AK..... I guess its my weakness/lead; it's so hard for me to fold big pairs

Read that 5 times. Then remember you raised UTG. I would just fold pre and not tell anyone.

He's getting over 15-to-1 from the pot + implied odds. I'd call pre-flop and plan to fold if I didn't hit Q. Easy game.

Edit: I'd also say something like, "It's a good thing for you I didn't hit an Ace or King." About half the time that works and the V will show me how badly I was behind. I love free info.

I'd call pre, see a flop, check everything except a set, see how hard he bombs the flop. Here, he bombed the crap out of it and this flop is pretty horrible for you, you only beat AK, JJ and 99, gotta ask if he 3bets 99 pre, or bluffs this hard with AK, I doubt it.

IMO, not against this guy, who has never 3-bet. I c/r. My money is on him having KK/AA, which I doubt he'll lay down once he bets his $50 & you raise $75 on top.

I agree with AbqDave. "I'd call pre, see a flop, check everything except a set, see how hard he bombs the flop. Here, he bombed the crap out of it and this flop is pretty horrible for you, you only beat AK, JJ and 99, gotta ask if he 3bets 99 pre, or bluffs this hard with AK, I doubt it."

AbqDave said "check everything except a set" implying he wouldn't check a set.

Correct. I disagree with that part. It will cost me value though if V doesn't have AA/KK, unless, he bets his AK here. However, maybe it is AK & he would have checked & then an A comes ott & I bet & he raises with the best kicker. Sweetness!

My money is on this V having a strong hand.

I'd go c/r and then shove or c/c and then c/shove, need to get it in ott. As it is, the guy got his dream runout and is terrified the river might be a scare card.
