H(covers) - Should have a clean tight image
V(250) - Bought in for about $100 and has run it up when he shoved his short stack of around $60 with AQ and tripled up, seems to be typical loose/passive

H (UTG) raises to $15 w/JJ, V (MP) 3bets to $40 saying he is tired of me pushing him around. I flat. I put him on AK, QQ+

Flop AJ4ddd (80)
H?

What should be the optimal line here vs his range?
donk, c/c, c/r, c/jam ?

I like a donk bet of...60ish. If he's really tired of you pushing him around maybe he raises. Though that sounds like some nonsense to say with a strong hand. He could have AA but a lot more AK combos plus KK QQ with one diamond. He never has a flopped flush here but decent number of 1 diamond hands, so I don't want to x and risk a x back from QQ KK.

If we are confident he c-bets then a x/r is fine. CRAI might be okay depending on his sizing, and it makes our hand look kind of bluffy like we have KQ with a diamond or something. And if he's LP I doubt he's bet/folding that much.

Check/call flop. Check/call turn. If it goes check/check then value bet river.

If he checks back the flop then bet turn and bet river.

He has the betting lead to best to let him keep betting if that’s his idea. I don’t like to lead out here with the board favoring the 3bettors range.

Check/raise is also weak because with such low spr it won’t be hard to get stacks in with a more standard line...

This is a way ahead way behind spot. I’m not worried about giving villain free cards. I’m more worried about taking a line where he finds a hero fold.

Very easy CRAI. If he checks back flop, bet 65 on all non-diamond turns.

We're not really getting the setmining odds to call preflop (given the times we lose when we flop one as well as the times he doesn't pay off with whiffed AK / KK- on A high boards / etc.). His speech reeks of strength, I just fold.

I think I would check/jam here. It lets him put in money with underpairs, and he may call a jam putting us on a draw (and will likely definitely call if his underpair has a draw itself).

It's not set mining if we can beat large parts of his range unimproved

Agree if we're strictly set mining we should probably fold as it's 25 to call to win max 250...

A passive guy just 3bet and gave a speech and we're OOP; it's not a great spot even for those times we are ahead, imo. When I'm playing meh I probably convince myself of a call-and-see-what-happens (cuz JJ, amirite?), but it's still pretty meh.

I was thinking like Shai at that moment and didn't want a check back so I donked 50, he raised to 150 and I jammed and got snapped by AA lol
