Re: 1/3 - Middle pair against a tilted reg in 3bet pot

post is fine, problem is pre
i like the turn shove, much better than calling

the issue with 3betting 88 is how hard it is to play post, he'd have to be a massive fish to call with 22-55, even tilted. so in reality you're going to be playing a middle pair for 3 streets OOP. look at your equity vs top 30% of hands :

Hand 0: 54.889% 54.49% 00.39% 2110714968 15252222.00 { 88 }
Hand 1: 45.111% 44.72% 00.39% 1732012236 15252222.00 { 55+, A2s+, K5s+, Q7s+, J8s+, T8s+, 98s, A7o+, A5o, K9o+, Q9o+, J9o+, T9o }
very often you will fold the best hand, because its a bloated pot and you're OOP so you're just giving yourself a hard time 3betting this spot.

Right, but realize its still a complex decision tree. Folks have gone nuts with folding out equity thanks to janda and solvers but realize in live poker people click such tremendous buttons that bluffcatching still has a lot of value.

Its not as simple as him having 12% or 30% equity. Its him having that equity share of the pot going to river, what his river bluffing frequency is, and what cards we incorrectly fold to otr.

Unlike most I dont think this is bad, esp up to turn. I think turn pairing though makes us want to x/c more and x/f to larger sizings or lock reads. Im honestly not sure.

Given dynamics, folding is wildly bad, as is checking turn compared to betting.
