I'm planning to venture out to casino that offers $1/3 $200 and $3/5 $300-500. They usually run 10+ $1/3 games, but only 1 or 2 $3/5 games, so the list is long.

Both drop a $6 rake+jackpot at $30

I cannot get there early enough to get a good spot on the $3/5 list, so I'm looking at a 1-2 hour wait once I get there and figure I'll play $1/3 while I wait.

Can a $1/3 game be beat for a high enough BB/hr to justify paying that high of a rake?

Depends on how good you are compared to the competition.

Games like these are really bad, and by bad I don't mean the players are bad, I mean bad as in you want to blow your brains out. Games like these encourage the biggest scared money nits to sit around buying in for the minimum while they let themselves get eaten alive by the blinds and rake. Plus, they tip atleast a $1 for every pot they win, even if its a $4 pot, taking all the money off of the table in an hour.

Go somewhere where players buy in for 100bb stacks, ideally, you want players sitting with 200bbs or more. Anything less than 100bbs and you're not even playing poker.
