V ($270) - just joined the table, seems to be a solid abc player from previous encounters nothing too OOL

H (covers) - tightish player on the table but have built up a bit of a stack

H opens CO $15 KQ, V 3b $35 BTN, H calls

Usually will fold pre vs 3b but this seemed to be strong to fold at this price?

Flop QT4 (70)
H checks, V $55, H calls

Not happy, but should I be peeling with bdfd + TP ?

Turn 3 (180)
H checks, V shoves $190, H folds

Can only really beat airball bluffs and AK here, I didn't think a hand like JJ would take this aggressive option

Thoughts?

Even though it looks like we could be doing a LP wide open when folded to us, I still fold to the 3bet. We're relatively short at just 90bbs, we'll be OOP, we're against a solid player, we'll only be HU, and against a tight 3betting range our hand has poor IO vs RIO. Yeah we're getting a good price; there may be a good reason for that (which sets us up for horrible RIO).

And postflop is why we shouldn't be continuing preflop (imo). We flopped about as good as we're going to flop and yet continued to put in some money OOP (just hoping he'd shutdown) and didn't even get to see a showdown (all of which I'm cool with).

Why are we opening 5x? Online it’s 2.5x and max 3x.

Against a "solid ABC player" who just joined the table, I'm probably folding to the 3-bet, especially since it will be HU.

Also, even though it feels like we should call the jam after calling the flop, I'm having a difficult time believing we have enough equity to call it off against his jamming range, unless he's prone to spazz.

Ha, my guess is you don't have a lotta live hours under your belt? I play in a loose game where 10x opens aren't unreasonable, and 7x is more standard, with 5x opens often going multiway / very multiway. Live and on-line are completely different beasts regarding typical sizing and multiwayness, and in lots of games a 100bb stack is actually getting into shortstack territory due to this.

Having said that, I think preflop sizing in this case (folded to us in the CO with a $270 stack) is actually an interesting case and you could argue for sizing all over the map (including very small ones to create high SPR pots in position where we can just play postflop poker, to very large ones where we could put ourselves in stack commitment territory with TP).

Cause online people fold TJo when you open 5x and live they call.

Online people 3 bet at a much higher frequency than live.

If you are folding turn you should probably be folding pre since you think his range is super nutted. Playing the hand this way can’t be profitable.
